Ah yes. "Bravado vs Ego" from another discussion. wink

Can't wait to see all the haters in. popcorn
I do tend to like men who are "bolder" than me. I am a "stronger" sort of woman...I cannot respect a man that I can walk over.....But too much ego....no...Bravado is another thing altogether.conversing dunno

What is Ego but the self that tries to mask it's insecurities.
It attacks instead of seeing truth as it is. It defends what is not real. It often offers fear and retaliation of an imagined sense of loss. Male and female alike all seem to suffer the ego's
wishes and bow to it's defense. To selectively criticize the male ego and consider a man's attitude about his self image do not women do the same through vanity and beauty?
I like confident people, if they think they're gods gift or if they have no confidence / backbone at all, I'll make a wide berth around them. uh oh

I'm too straight to bother with ego stroking and not impressed if someone tries it with me. dunno

I think to appreciate and respect someone is enough, if it's not, he's out of luck. cool
@lala, thanks. Just remember everyone this blog is NOT about me though. It's just unfortunate that the idea of male ego and bravado came up in a very general private discussion btween me and her and now my name appears here. laugh

@AFoolsDream: You like many others concentrate on the negative connotations of ego. Ego itself in the purest definition is something everyone has. It's a self image. The ancient Greeks wrote about ego and said that everyone has an ego, even the lowest of the low have a self image of themselves. Everyone that doesn't kill themselves have some ego.. they consider themselves worthy of, at the very least, their own will to live.

Now Bravado.... is something closer to an overinflated ego, but the key difference is, Bravado still is someone who knowingly is artificially confident beyond their own real powers. Tough talk by kids at school is Bravado. Overinflated ego is when the person really does think they are superfluous in something in which they are really not.

Now... this here blog seems to be on a discussion about "Male Ego". Not sure what Calli wants from the discussion.
Some women have bigger egos than men.Just sayingconversing
I wouldn't like a man with no ego. Too much ego though is a different story. beer
The nice thing about egotists is that they don't talk about other people. grin
