no kung fu for you!

I figured it was time for a new post. i haven't done one in a few days. Sooo... whats the topic. I recently met an older gentle me who is self proclaimed to teach "kung fu". This is something i was always interested in growing up but never attempted to learn. Also for similar reasons as joining the military. I found that whatever hobbies or things i am interested in I am extremely passionate about. I have always been a non violent person and wouldn't allow myself to go down another path that might lead to that. To clarify, i would have no problems defending myself but am not an aggressor. Back to the main point at hand. I spoke with this gentleman within the last 3 weeks and it seemed he was offering to teach me. I have been very tempted but i did decline. I know that kung fu is not about violence. I just think it is better to keep the possibility off the table. I am curious to know if others don't do things for similar reasons.

Gongfu in chinese can have other meaning as well. Gongfu means martial arts,like Jacky chen ,but also means time no Gong fu, also means no time for you in chinese.

The same pronunciation, but means two different things

You could do it just to increase your self confidence. This self confidence is not meant for self defense or attack. It has something wider into it. I am a black belt from British all style karate association. So, I can say once if you start it you will feel the difference!
