Iotaoo maybe so but be careful you may be accused of disagreement with another's parenting. But then I kinda feel like im "beating a dead horse" here....because it doesnt matter what I say.....people will believe what they want regardless of what is said so its whatever

I largely agree with the conditioning idea as a major influence, but parents are not the only influence upon a child.

Teachers, friends, other family members, babysitters, lodgers...all sorts of people may reinforce certain behaviours, often unwittingly through their own lack of self-awareness.

Have you ever come across this sort of stuff?

So, what's the psychology and science behind that social dynamic?

Aj. ...seems at times anything goes and this country is so versatile when it comes to standards. So many different cultures and traditions in one country. I always told my kids when they were growing up that at age 18 they have 3 options - 1. They work and help with household bills to learn responsibility and the value of money 2. They continue their education and live with me rent free while I help them help themselves or 3. Do neither and live off of someone else because I refuse to be supportive if they aren't going to put forth the effort. Those are my views, not necessarily the views of others.

This particular 19 year old has made it quite clear that he doesn't want to go to school or get a job yet brings itupon himself to make undesirable comments to those 20 years his senior....including but not limited to his parents who financially support him.

When I was growing up we only had one tv for the viewing of a household of 7 family members and it wasn't until 1984 that my parents bought a Commodore 64 computer that had DOS and games on floppy disks and the Atari game system. Both of which was kept in their bedroom and only used for a designated period of time with parental permission.

Times have definitely changed and the common respect of others is diminishing

Well hello Luke tis good to see you too! And singing is truly my passion, without it, I feel stressed and incomplete......that outlet will always be my reliable source to vent my frustrations!

Aj I do agree.....I've never lived in wealth. Always barely got by because I had raised 3 kids on one income. When I was growing up we never really had much either. I'm not saying right or wrong but before my older twohad left the home and when all three were young we all ate dinner together every night and on the weekends had taken family trips to the beach, went camping, picnicking at the park, etc. Every Friday night was Chinese Buffet night.....plenty of family time. And pssstttt ....no electronic devices were allowed at the kitchen table. The 19 year old I was referring to in the blog and throughout the comments was not my own.

No self denial dear ..... just never been big on poetry. I sing, I paint....those would just be my strong points. Silliness

I've had my music video recordings posted before.....I may throw another one up one of these days, who knows
