Good Friday.

After discussing Good Friday with my supervisor today, I thought, this is something that I would see in the blogs. Mo one to my knowledge has talked about it, as far as I know, so I figured why not. What is considered a tradition and or sacrilege to eat on that day? I've always been a traditional person, only because it was passed down through the family, (thought I would state that because of recent blog comments). I usually try to eat fish on that day, and hot cross buns.
What do you eat normally on Good Friday? Just curious wine

Doctor if you like tradition , then, you would have, on Good Friday, [and I know its only tradition, not for religious fervour] a light Brekkie, say Scrambled Egg on A piece of Toast, then for lunch, something light again [no Meat] and for your Dinner, Fish is usually the norm, with a little vegetables, when i was growing up, it was no Meat, no Sweets or very pleasurable food and of course, the Hot Cross Buns maybe a few , they are lovely !! It's about Fasting, semi-fasting, some people in Ireland would fast all day but I never could, as I would get weak, dizzy , I never thought it was hardship as I am not a meat eater, can take or leave it, love Egg and love fish. hope this answers your question ... Oh! I forgot no alcohol......devil
Hi Doctor
Good Friday is a Christian holiday but Christianity does not prescribe a certain diet. We eat what we like. However, I have noticed that the Muslims in this country like to eat pickled fish on the day with the result we have an ample supply of picked fish around this time of the year. I love pickled fish and therefor that is what I eat.
@ Doc - As a non-religious person I eat and drink whatever I like and I haven't been struck down so far for doing it.... cheering ....... grin cheers
Sirait What you described, a Plate of Rice, Vegetables and Fish is more or less what i live on. I like to live very simply and dont bother with meat, if somebody serves it to me in their home I will eat it, but I eat a very Eastern Diet, Just Rice, Vegetables, tiny amount of Fish and cook it in Coconut oil.
