My parents were self-employed and worked together all the time, so I was brought up with this. I do fully get that the prospect of going back to work after all these years is terrifying, I changed careers etc. and it takes a while to find your footing.
I'm at a point where I have seen too much (and experienced it myself) to ever want to be financially dependent on a man. My sister is also financially dependent on her (alcoholic) husband. All I'm saying is that I would choose a different path than she does. It is her life.
Try to find something you enjoy and I hope that spending your own money will give you a great sense of achievement.
I almost forgotten how was the feeling like to spend my own hard earned money...it was too long ago...
