@Edison,yes, such a sad loss! He wasn't the first Japanese to be beheaded but his and Haruna's were so recent and well publicized. Maybe even without advisory from their embassies, the Japanese would be wary to go to places which are still in war zones. People seeking for adventures and meaning of life can get it in plenty other ways.
@Wallops, yes reaching out to friends in need is the ultimate test in friendship but he shld not jeopardize his own family. What a real friend he was, indeed. I'm just hoping this could teach a lesson on national security too.

At least some of the Men In India have gone over to Iraq to help these People.....At present...Some 30,000 Indian men are there now....Though they may be Muslims themselves...At least they are doing something.............detective

@Nam, I mentioned western and european education since there were commentaries that Jihadji John has British accent. I understand that moneyed people not only Arabs but even fellow Filipinos study in America or in Europe. I was hinting that those people who have tasted what it is like to live in a liberal and democratic society and received modern education would never be a part of any extreme group. Especially if those men enjoyed the free public education. I just can't imagine feeding, educating someone only to turn their arms against the humanity you all stand for. But I am wrong it seems Jihadji was just one of the guys while overseas and going back to his roots he's now a celebrity of some sort. In a way he might be looking for a place on earth but inwardly a coward. Otherwise he could have exposed his face. Maybe trying to live 2 lives. I understand you are a former military man. I salute you for all the services you have rendered, the pain, the endurance, the heartaches. If only you're near me, I could have hugged you. Thanks for sharing your views.
