Are there have different culture on gift?.....when u meet a girl (guy)after long time, and u like her very much, will u bring a gift to her (him)or not?.....

by the way, if u need something , and it is more cheap aboard, could u ask friend bring it to u when they comes ?....of course , I means will pay it.

Also think it depends more on the person than the culture. My grandmother always took something with when visiting people and we all still do that. Agree with Lonely when it comes to expensive gifts from a man you don't except it unless you know and love that man.
Hi Ek hug

Yeah true...when invited to someone's house, we also do that...usually we take flowers for the lady and wine or some booze for the gentleman of that house... In the Northern Cape, we don't always get fresh flowers ...we take a whole succulent plant along rolling on the floor laughing . And when we are done with the tea, or meal ... we'll ask if we can assist and then we leave again...We don't wait for the next meal laugh ... And also, we'll never pop in...we'll call to ask if that will be okay if we visit...confused
Hi,AMY:

Mostly depend on the people. Yes, it's an interest thing to see or get a gift from different culture area . But when you want your friend buy things aboard for you, should make sure he /she is willing to do that extra job and knows to buy the right thing which exactly you wanted.hug wave
Hi Amy, wave I like giving someone special little gifts, like a specialty from my home town etc. It is not something I expect from any guy, but it is nice and I would find it strange if my boyfriend wouldn't do something similar from time to time. (always happened btw.).

I also would get a gift for friends if I know they are looking for in particular and I bring something when invited. conversing

If someone needs something from abroad and I can bring it with me, I would do that.
Giving someone the right gift shows how well u know them. professor
thanks everyone, not only depend on culture also the people 's view and way....?
whatever the culture one thing is sure: the most precious gift is....YOUbouquet
Just give them a box of candy, or a bottle of a decent wine, or flowers. That's cool.
