(Sitting Up There On The Top of The Lamp Post..Peering Down And Waiting For Something To Move)
And I Thought
""Im Sure Glad I Wasnt Born A "Field Mouse"
Or That "Old Red Barn"..That Im Sure Is Older Than Me..Looking As Though Its About To Come Crashing Down To The Ground
And I Thought
("Ill Bet That Barn Could Tell Some Stories")
Then Theres Whats Left Of An Old Tree
With The Gray Pieces Of Yesterdays Life (Strewn About Where The Tree Used To Stand)
And I Thought
("That Tree Was Probably Standing When The Pioneers Were Here")
I Also Saw A "Mother Horse"...With Her Young Baby By Her Side
And I Thought
("That Baby Horse Has A Full And Wonderful Life Ahead Of Him/Her")
And Then I Saw A "Mother Cow"...With Her Young Calf Standing By Her Side
And I Thought
"That Poor Little Calf"..."The Mother Doesnt Know That Her Baby Will Have A Very Short Life"..."How Sad".................
