Los Apodos of Your Childhood!!

Okay, so I'm being silly and just in time to get your attention.

Los apodos are "Your nicknames" in Spanish. I had several growing up and into my adulthood as well.

Let's have some fun and maybe a little "letting loose", so to speak, om hurtful childhood nick names that once used to hurt you. Believe me I had several and especially from my siblings.

Here are mine and their origin!

Pitzi: This was a nickname from my relatives and I don't know why? I think it came from my Nebraska relatives as a "cute" nickname for me with no harm.

Snafu: This was a hurtful one from my brother Johnny who used to get great delight in belittling me. It will part of a title of a book I am in the process of writing.

Eagle beak: I have an aquiline nose and a sister named Mary used to hurl that at me just to be like my brother Johnny and insult me.

EeeePC: Said like that by a sister named Madeline who also used to pick on me. It was said in a hurtful inflection and I knew exactly what she meant. EPC are my initials.

Buster: A women I used to date called me that when she got angry with me. That was a real good one that I have had fun with throughout my life.

Daddooood! Meant as Dad dude and my son calls me that. A very loving name between father and son.

Ned: Derived from Ed (my name) by my daughter in Portland, Oregon. She is as silly as me but in a quiet way. She and my other daughter and grand daughter are the "Apples of My Eye"!!

Tito: I was called that by a cousin of my ex because her name was Martha, Spanish version Martita then shortened to Tita, hence, Tito and Tita!! That was a funny one.

I will log off for awhile to take a cousin to the doctors office. And i reserve the right to add more in my comments!! laugh

I forgot to add that the hurtful nicknames as a child have outgrown their stupidity and hurt and they are now just a good laugh. I tell my kids those stories and I think things have worked because they love each other very much. The grand kids are loved by their aunts and uncles so good has come from bad.

I forgot to say!! Give us yours and describe them and we can all have a good time laughing and being silly!!

My uncle use to call me Poker face as I never showed any emotion around anyone but my parents and siblings. For some reason I could never trust him enough to even smile at him no matter how hard he tried.

Yes, skinny is always a cute and funny name. I used to have 2 young sisters that lived next door. One was skinny and that's what she was called.

The other one was obese and she was called Fats. It never bothered her.

My mother used to get our names always mixed up. I had a wonderful Mom and I wished i could hear her get our names mixed up again!!

When I was young my nickname was dill pickle...when in high school my friend's used to call me jillybean...now it is nurse ratchit...laugh just kidding!!
lulu!!

Good to her from you!!

I don't think that I really had any high school nicknames. It was all family stuuf.

Thanks for your post!!
My aunt start to call me Snaske, because I was to much after sweet and in Swedish snask has to do with sweet things....very soon People around me change it to Sasse, what they called me in the School too and all Swedish family members know me still as Sasse.
When I was about 16-17 a Lady that was several time a World Champion in sport, took my real name Rolf and made it Rolle,to fit better for the Finnish language and all Finnish People know me as that now....still when I went into the Army,my Mother start to call me Rolf and she never use anything else after that.
The funny thing is,that the name affect in some way your personality,as I feel clearly, when I'm in Antigua Rolf and when I'm in contact with Finnish People as Rolle,I feel a switch in my self,as I feel too, when I talk with Swedish People as Sasse.
