HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO...

Laura Ingalls Wilder! party

The author/heroine of the Little House Books turns 150 years old.
She was born in the Big Woods of Wisconsin. Her first book, Little House In The Big Woods (published when she was 65) recounts her early girlhood.

It also sets the stage/tone for the rest of the series of eight Little House Books in which she describes being young with America & growing up on the expanding frontier.

back in Rhodesia we had one black and white chanel, Little house on the prairie was the sunday show along with daktari, voyage to the bottom of the sea, the jetsons.

She was born about 1 1/2 years after the U.S. Civil War.
Man-made satellites were orbiting Earth the year she died.
