No Idling Here...
The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of activity, perusing my thousands of photos to utilize in a couple of exhibitions. A local photo finishing store is featuring my photos for this month, and they've been awesome in ensuring I have everything for their display.Searching the photos was the most time-consuming part, figuring out which photos I wanted displayed. I thought after choosing them, that'd be it. Ha! Nope. Last week the manager phoned to remind me to have business cards, and to write a bio for their floor stand. Ack!
Although I probably would have done something more with my business cards, I pretty much grabbed one of my photos and added my info to it. I just didn't have the time to really mess around with it. The bio I had attached and sent off several times, and each time they kept asking me for it.
I presumed they'd received it until Saturday afternoon when they said they still didn't have it. Rather than try to add the attachment again, I copied and pasted it into the email - which was received, thankfully. So it must have been the attachment that prevented it from being delivered.
The first exhibit was in a local nursery amongst their plants, and it was a fabulous venue for us (the photo club). The nursery also has an incredible restaurant, my favourite place in my previous community. Our exhibition was Friday and Saturday, which meant matting and framing the photos and hauling them to the venue. It's a pain in the rear, but what one must do for one's work to be seen.
I have another exhibition at the sister photo finishing store in my old community and have to get some photos ready for that one, but that will have to wait.
This weekend and next I'm in a local festival as a vendor. Wouldn't you know, I'm short on bottles and sprayers and have had to get a rush order shipped to me. I guess that's simply a sign that that part of my business really isn't my passion, although it offers me a good income. I guess too many irons in the fire at the moment.
The bottles and sprayers will be delivered tomorrow afternoon, at which time I'll go across the border to pick them up, and Friday will be spent ensuring I have enough product for this weekend. I'll have next week to replenish, but this week is a big push.
Lots to do, and in the meantime, still finding time to bike ride and enjoy the sun now that it's finally appeared!
They say idle hands are the devil's playthings. I'd venture to say idle minds definitely are - neither one I have to worry about at this point.
