The National Council for the Safeguarding of the Homeland (CNSP) of Niger reported that the United States recognized the end of military agreements with this African country and announced a future plan to discuss the withdrawal of American forces.
This became known during the meeting between the Nigerien Interior Minister, General Mohamed Toumba, and the American ambassador in Niamey, Kathleen FitzGibbon.
Last Saturday, Niger junta spokesman Amadou Abdramane announced the end of the military cooperation agreement with the White House "taking into account the aspirations and interests of the people", while criticizing that Washington denies Niamey "the right to choose the partners" who will accompany him in the transition process.

The Holy City
The Holy City
Last night I lay a-sleeping
There came a dream so fair
I stood in Old Jerusalem
Beside the temple there
I heard the children singing
And ever as they sang
Me thought the voice of angels
From heaven in answer rang
Me thought the voice of angels
From the heaven in answer rang
Jerusalem, Jerusale
]ft up your gates and sing
"Hosanna in the highest
Hosanna to your King!"
And then me thought my dream was changed
The streets no longer rang
Hushed were the glad Hosannas
The little children sang
The sun grew dark with mystery
The morn was cold and chill
As the shadow of a cross arose
Upon a lonely hill
As the shadow of a cross arose
Upon a lonely hill
Jerusalem, Jerusalem
Hark, how the angels sing
"Hosanna in the highest
Hosanna to your King!"
]
And once again the scene was changed
New earth there seemed to be
I saw the Holy City
Beside the tideless sea
The light of God was on its streets
The gates were open wide
And all who would might enter
And no one was denied
No need of moon or stars by night
Or sun to shine by day
It was the new Jerusalem
That would not pass away
It was the new Jerusalem
That would not pass away
Jerusalem, Jerusalem
Sing for the night is o'er!
Hosanna in the highest
Hosanna forevermore!
Hosanna in the highest!
Hosanna forevermore!

HE HAS RISEN
He has risen
He has risen
Jesus is alive
When the life flowed from His body
Seemed like Jesus' mission failed
But His sacrifice accomplished
Vict'ry over sin and hell
In the grave God did not leave Him
For His body to decay
Raised to life - the Great Awakening
Satan's pow'r He overcame
If there were no resurrection
We ourselves could not be raised
But the son of God is living
So our hope is not in vain
When the Lord rides out of heaven
Mighty angels at His side
They will sound the final trumpet
From the grave we shall arise
He has given life immortal
We shall see Him face to face
Through eternity we'll praise Him
Christ the champion of our faith

Bible verses to celebrate the resurrection
The significance of Easter Sunday is that it represents the freedom we have to live a life of victory in God. Our sins are forgiven through the grace of God, and we can enjoy abundant joy from today onward.
How better to honor the occasion than by reviewing the popular Easter Bible verses?
John 11:25-26
“Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
Acts 4:33
“With great power, the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God's grace was so powerfully at work in them all.”
1 Peter 1:3
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy, He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
Luke 24:6-7
“He is not here; He has risen! Remember how He told you while He was still with you in Galilee: ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and, on the third day, be raised again.”
Mark 16:5-7
“As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed."Don't be alarmed," he said. "You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He isn't here. See the place where they laid Him. But go tell His disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There, you'll see Him, just as He told you.'”
Acts 3:15
“You killed the author of life, but God raised Him from the dead.”
Romans 8:34
“Who, then, is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus, who died — more than that, who was raised to life — is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”
He is risen indeed, hallelujah

One of the most joyful sentences a Christian can say on Easter morning is “He is risen!”
For some Christians, the phrase is nothing more than a greeting. But for those that study God’s word, it’s a confirming statement of the resurrection of Christ, the Lord.
By saying those three words, we're reminded that our eternal life is certain.
It’s because God raised our savior Jesus Christ from the dead to wipe away our sins that we can declare, "He is risen." And that's certainly worth celebrating.
To commemorate the resurrection of Christ, we’ll explore the meaning of the phrase "He is risen" along with some celebratory Bible verses.
What does “He is risen” mean?
The phrase "He is risen" is used by Christians during Easter to celebrate Christ's resurrection from the dead. The response to the phrase “He is risen” is, “He’s risen indeed.”
Early on, Eastern and Byzantine liturgies used the greeting more frequently than Western ones.
Tradition has it that Mary Magdalene popularized the phrase when she had a meeting with Emperor Tiberius in Rome, telling him that “Christ is risen” from the dead.
Christ's resurrection by God served as final proof of God's approval and vindication of everything Jesus stood for. Jesus identified with the poor and disenfranchised, but most of all, those who had committed a multitude of sins.
Christ also absorbed the hatred given to Him from religious and political powers without returning it. He was passionate about liberating the oppressed and teaching us true compassion.
Because of the compassionate life Jesus led, God saved us from our sins.
“He is risen” is an important doctrinal truth we share on Easter and at other times with one another about the power of Christ's resurrection. We proclaim His power over death in the present tense since it is a continuing fact. We have continued hope in Christ's resurrection even thousands of years later.
We can confidently proclaim that He is risen. He is risen, indeed, hallelujah!
The story of the resurrection
The Old and New Testaments both speak of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Before His death on the cross, Jesus told His disciples of His resurrection, and His disciples saw the body of the risen Christ.
In the days before Jesus rose from the dead, He was tried by a court and convicted for a false claim to be a king.
Jesus' body was hung on a cross between two thieves, and His body was laid in a tomb after His death, wrapped in linen cloth and covered with a large stone.

Mary Magdalene and another Mary traveled to the empty tomb early on a Sunday morning. An angel of the Lord sat on the rolled-away stone and told them not to be afraid, for Jesus had risen.
“But the angel said to the women, ‘Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus, who was crucified. He isn't here, for he has risen, as he said. Come see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you'll see him. See, I have told you’” (Matthew 28:5-7).
While the women were leaving to tell the disciples, Jesus Christ met them and showed them the nail-piercings in His hands.
Later, Peter’s message to the Jewish leaders in Jerusalem was that God “raised up” this Jesus “whom you crucified” and “has made Him both Lord and Messiah” (Acts 2:32-36).
According to Acts, the Bible verses were historically reflective of early Christian thought, which held that God approved of Jesus' resurrection, and He will always be a constant presence in the lives of His followers.
The belief in God's saving grace and mercy, through Jesus our savior, is meaningless without the resurrection. He proved His divinity as the son of God, as well as His redeeming and saving work through rising from the dead.

Argentina's Defence Minister Luis Petri on Tuesday signed a letter of intent to buy the 24 jets with his Danish counterpart Troels Lund Poulsen in Buenos Aires.
"We received the visit of the Danish Minister of Defence, Troels Lund Poulsen, with whom we signed a letter of intent for the purchase of F-16 aircraft and support equipment. We are laying the foundation for cooperation in defence between Denmark, the US and Argentina," said Petri in a post on Twitter.
The purchase, which also includes engines, spare parts, simulators and training equipment, is the first major defence purchase made by President Javier Milei’s government since the Argentine head of state took office last December.

With the blessing of United States concerned about the advance of China in the Americas, has placed renewed attention on the UK’s ability to defend the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic, and whether the balance of power is shifting.
After the 1982 Falklands War between UK and Argentina, (triggered by the military invasion and occupation of the Islands by the Argentine Junta), UK moved to reinforce its ability to defend the Falkland Islands through the creation of a tri-service defense capability. Central to this is RAF Mount Pleasant, an airbase constructed some forty miles south of the capital city of Stanley on East Falkland.
British Army and Royal Navy assets are also assigned to the territory, with units rotating in and out as required. There are around 1,500 UK military personnel stationed on the Falkland Islands at any one time.

Harvard University said it has removed human skin from the binding of a 19th century book about the afterlife that has been in its collections since the 1930s. The decision came after a review found ethical concerns with the book's origin and history.
The book, Des Destinées de L’âme, meaning "Destinies of the Soul," was written by Arsène Houssaye, a French novelist and poet, in the early 1880s. The printed text was given to a physician, Ludovic Bouland, who "bound the book with skin he took without consent from the body of a deceased female patient in a hospital where he worked," Harvard said in a recent statement. The book has been at the university's Houghton Library.
Bouland included a handwritten note inside the book. It said "a book about the human soul deserved to have a human covering," associate university librarian Thomas Hyry said in a published question-and-answer segment online Wednesday (local time). The note also detailed the process behind preparing the skin for binding.
Scientific analysis done in 2014 confirmed the binding was made of human skin, the university said

Islamabad, Pakistan – Five Chinese nationals and a Pakistani driver have been killed after a suicide attacker rammed his explosive-laden vehicle into their convoy near Besham city in northwest Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
The incident happened on Tuesday when the convoy was on its way from Islamabad to Dasu, the site of a key hydroelectric dam being constructed by a Chinese company, about 270km (167 miles) from the capital.
On Monday night, separatist fighters attacked a naval airbase in Turbat area in the southwestern province of Balochistan, killing at least one paramilitary soldier. Officials said all five of the assailants were also killed in retaliatory fire.
The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), which has been behind several attacks on Pakistani and Chinese interests in the region and elsewhere, claimed responsibility for the Turbat attack.
Last week, another BLA attack at Gwadar, a port city in Balochistan, killed two soldiers and eight of the group’s fighters. Gwadar is the centrepiece of the $62bn dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, Pakistan’s most ambitious infrastructure and investment project in recent years.

Serbia is marking the anniversary of the NATO attack on former Yugoslavia, with the consequences of the aggression still plaguing the country. RT’s Charlotte Dubenskij has explored the impact of the war, still felt throughout the region 25 years after – and not even accessed in full.
During the illegal bombing campaign, NATO forces used some 31,000 rounds containing depleted uranium, a highly toxic and slightly radioactive material. The attacks with the use of such munitions affected some 91 sites across the country, Dubenskij noted.
According to NATO’s own estimates, 10 metric tons of material were used during the campaign. Depleted uranium has been primarily used in 30-mm armor-piercing incendiary ordnance, utilized by A-10 Thunderbolt II ground attack planes, as well as 25mm rounds of Bradly infantry fighting vehicles and shells for M1 Abrams tanks. Depleted uranium cores in such munitions evaporate on impact, likely leaving the environment polluted for years.

The International Monetary Fund announced on Friday the immediate disbursement of US$820 million to the Egyptian government, part of an augmented plan to aid the nation's stumbling economy.
The IMF's Executive Board validated the payment as part of a US$3 billion aid programme granted at the end of 2022.
The IMF action, repeatedly postponed and eagerly awaited by the Egyptian government, arrives at a time of mounting difficulties for its economy.
The Board also approved a US$5 billion extension announced at the beginning of the month, bringing the Fund's total lending to Egypt to US$8 billion.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

I was watching the show "The View" the other day...they had on an author of a book on evangelicals...basically who they are and how some became agreeable to Trump being elected including explaining why they are okay with the many indiscretions of Trump's actions that are far from the example of model Christian behaviour...criminal behaviour in fact...
The author, Tim Alberta of the book The Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory: American Evangelicals in an Age of Extremism, gives readers a look into this phenomenon...
Although I have yet to read this book...the author who happens to be a preacher's son gives an insider view on how this is possible...or evolved...
Because of this book...he has been seen by some in his faith as a traitor...but he has a different point of view...

In the UK, Tichy Sunak's weak leadership is destroying the Conservative party. So far, we have the highest taxes, sewage dumped in rivers, pot holes everywhere, the health service with long waiting lists for treatment, illegal migrants crossing the channel daily, ministers resigning. Councils going bankrupt.
A general election not decided yet, but the opposition party led by Starmer is likely to succeed. A new party called, Reform, should do well.
