UK & USA ELECTIONS THIS YEAR. UKRAINE?
I hope that whoever becomes leader in the forthcoming USA and UK elections will show leadership with regard to the situation between Russia and Ukraine. The signs are that if Trump wins he may not look favourably on continuing the supply of finance and weapons to Ukraine. This would put great pressure on the outcome of the war.Whoever becomes UK prime minister ( unlikely to be Sunak ), I hope he will stand up in support of Ukraine and be persuasive to the President that America must show solidarity in that country's fight for freedom.

The goal was to take the Donbas region just like in Georgia and they're not leaving without it.
Ukraine will not be able to join NATO while there are unresolved external territorial disputes.
Taxpaying citizens are paying to extend the war instead of financing services at home, it's money wasted unless there is a win but as I said Russia will counter any increase in Ukraine's effort.
The sooner everybody faces this reality the better. It's not just Putin either, Medvedev will be just as bad if not worse, so an early settlement could be crucial.
I am sure Ukraine will never give up their land and nor should they. If they did surrender in anyway, that would open the floodgates for Russia to take complete control, and send the message to other autocracies that the west is weak and vulnerable. China would set its sights on Taiwan and, so what, you may think, well the whole region of that section of the world would be in their hands.
Putin would rejoice and continue his threat to the west.
All the cost of the war and weaponry would have been in vain. The Ukraine people would feel deserted. Would you feel be better if they just surrendered?

All of what you write here is wrong. All of it. Fight for freedom? Seriously?
That's like pretendng that the people living in Crimea wanna break free from 'Russian dictatorship'.
Any sign of mispleased people in Crimea?
Taiwan, what do you know about Taiwan?
This idea that China and Russia wanna expand is ...well have you heard the expression "you know others on yourself" ?
Do you really think the people in Ukraine are not fighting for their freedom? Are all those towns and villages smashed to rubble, just an illusion? I suppose you think Ukrainians should be happy and welcoming to Russia. I suppose all the refugees that have evacuated to Poland, UK etc are rejoicing at the destruction of their homes and the breakdown of normal life. Perhaps all those drones and missiles constantly threatening the existing population are just sent for fun. Life in and out of cellars and underground subways for families, destruction of schools and hospitals. I think you must have been asleep over the last couple of years.
with the socalled aggressor here.
Instead we're fueling the fire. But that is just my view.
Your blog, your opinion and that will stand no worries.

Not anymore. His rethoric on possible Atom war makes me feel he will never set foot on Nato soil.

The one who is for Reparations and a Universal basic income (UBI) among other Democrat socialist Programs?
He is a run of the mill Democrat!
Land grabbing versus ethnic tensions is never a good idea.

Putin pulled the same stunt in Georgia, and might choose to "Liberate" the Russian-speakers in the Baltic States, especially since the were part of the Soviet-Empire through Annexation!
Trump will do as he pleases...including changing his mind that suits his needs...
Trump needs half a billion dollars...who is he going to call?...

Orchestrated by the usa? If so we agree.
@Spitz. "can't have it both ways".
Hmmm... can you wrap your head around this:
before and after the 22february 2022.
Putin had a dilemma, should he do something or should he do nothing.
I think he actually should have done nothing.
But now that he has, well he as to see this through and yes I do hope he wins.
I dread what would happen to Russian civiles on the ground if Zelensky and his troops (plus all the western merchenaries) just pushed Putins forces back. Besides if that had happen (a loss on the battlefield for the bear) he might had gone for the nukes. The way it stands now it seems he can sit on those four east regions and I guess the folk living there is relieved that seems to bve the outcome. I'm still worried though what will happen long term when Putin one day is gone as leader. Anything may happen then I'm afraid.
This is what it looks to me. Does it sound very unpatriotic to you?
I also like Assad the leader of Syria.
Too think Mahammar Gadaffi was much better than his rep.
And Chine is no as scary as they're present them to be
-actuallymost of "our" factories are placed there.
Now we're gonna jeopardize that relationship over Taiwan?!
Who the hell is steering all this shit we 'natoees' are supposed to support and send soldiers to die for hmm??
Some f'ing azzholes in dc is my guess.

That is information that has never been factually proven. While certain troublemakers have been arrested the majority of Russians live happy with Ukrainians.
Good to see you to do not believe Putin attacked Ukraine due to NATO.

I tried to say that if Putin had been forced back (lost the war) then I would be scared yes, what might happent to them. Or as Mearsheimer say "he can never leave now".
A general election not decided yet, but the opposition party led by Starmer is likely to succeed. A new party called, Reform, should do well.
Not surprisingly, he has called people vermin...one has to wonder who is next on his list of hate...
That book he has on his night stand is becoming useful...
A public vote is needed to decide whether to keep on fighting or to end it now.
Russian forces outnumber Ukrainian troops by up to 10 times in the eastern regions.
Ukraine's parliament passed a bill which will oblige Ukrainian men between 18 and 60 to update their personal data with the military authorities to allow draft offices to see more easily who can be called up in any given region.
The people should be given truthful details of casualties to date. So far families don't always know if their sons and fathers are still alive because they are often listed as missing.
They should be told what the chances are of winning the war and driving the Russians completely out of their land. And this should come from an independant source, not Zelensky.
Patriotism and pride is all very well, it makes for good fighting talk but reality must kick in at some stage.
When this is over it wouldn't surprise me if Putin looks for war reparations.
Yes. Good idea. Time to surrender and give Putin what he wants. He can then consolidate and move on to the next invasion. China can then see the result and focus on Taiwan knowing that if Russia can do it, so can they. Iran can step up their military and nuclear projects and create more chaos in the middle East. North Korea will continue developing their weaponry and why not invade the South.
Good thinking you.
This is not going to be a simple solution...history suggests otherwise...
How foolish the American political parties are...not coming together and discussing what should be done rather than get mired down in nonsensical issues...the time for unity is now...

They are more friendly than us, seen from a wider persepective. That's the point.

Why the Baltic countries are preparing for war with Russia.
I would agree China is non aggressive.
