UK & USA ELECTIONS THIS YEAR. UKRAINE?
I hope that whoever becomes leader in the forthcoming USA and UK elections will show leadership with regard to the situation between Russia and Ukraine. The signs are that if Trump wins he may not look favourably on continuing the supply of finance and weapons to Ukraine. This would put great pressure on the outcome of the war.Whoever becomes UK prime minister ( unlikely to be Sunak ), I hope he will stand up in support of Ukraine and be persuasive to the President that America must show solidarity in that country's fight for freedom.

Why the Baltic countries are preparing for war with Russia.
I would agree China is non aggressive.
I see no real reason for Russia to wrec havoq over the balitic strip,
he let that ship sail years ago. Finland never, dunn even matte rif they're part of Nato or not.
Ukraine was to him like Canada is the the US of A, one step too close for comfort.
Along those lines. It's not so hard to understand Putin here, whether he is slightly
wrong or not- he took a stand and drew a line. Don't mean he will now do a hitler.
About NK, I adimt it's the worst country on the planet. It shoudl be freed from their own dictator.
That would be an intervetintion I would support.
But for NK to set boots in SK is to me as absurd an idea as
Russian boots in Finnmark (north Norway)... like what are they gonne do
when a 1000 f35s starte burning up every unit they have been unwise enough to send over,
all gone before lunchtime day one... eh regret?
I would agree China is non aggressive.
China and Taiwan are destined for ‘reunification’, Xi tells former president
Xi claims Taiwan as a province of China and has sworn to annex it, by force if necessary.
In the interim he has presided over a wide-scale campaign of political, economic and cognitive warfare, and near-daily military intimidation, in order to persuade Taiwan to accept Chinese rule.
Taiwan’s ministry of foreign affairs said Beijing’s “publicity campaign” couldn’t hide its ambitions to “eliminate Taiwan’s sovereignty”.
“External interference cannot stop the historical trend of reunion of the country and family,” Xi said, “there is no rancour that cannot be resolved, no problem that cannot be discussed, and no force that can separate us”.
Some people trust Trump while others trust Xi. C'est la vie. I suppose it's a case of who you like.
Yes. Good idea. Time to surrender and give Putin what he wants. He can then consolidate and move on to the next invasion. China can then see the result and focus on Taiwan knowing that if Russia can do it, so can they. Iran can step up their military and nuclear projects and create more chaos in the middle East. North Korea will continue developing their weaponry and why not invade the South.
Good thinking you.
Let the Ukrainian people decide.
Russia can match everything thrown at it. They will take Kiev too.
China is playing a huge part in Russia's war on Ukraine.
"The officials spoke to Reuters news agency and said China has massively increased its sales to Russia of machine tools, microelectronics and other technology to Moscow.
These items are important because Russia is using them to make tanks, aircraft, missiles and other weapons for the war.
They also said:
About 90% of Russia's microelectronics came from China
Nearly 70% of Russia's approximately $900m in machine tool imports in the last quarter of last year came from China
Chinese and Russian entities have been working together to make drones in Russia
China is helping Russia improve its satellite and other space-based capabilities for use in the war. This could increase the threat Russia poses across Europe.
US President Joe Biden has previously raised concerns with Chinese President Xi Jinping about Beijing's indirect involvement in the war.
US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen returned this week from a visit to Beijing and said she had warned China that the Biden administration was prepared to sanction Chinese banks, companies and Beijing's leadership if they helped Russia's military in the war.
She has already been given the go-ahead from Mr Biden to sanction financial institutions that help Russia's military-industrial complex.
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is due to travel to China for talks next month."

Everything appears to be loaded against Ukraine. I don't believe they can succeed without continual support from other countries, especially USA. The question is, should they be left to fail, or should Western Europe plus USA make the big decision to supply everything needed to turn the tables on Russia, including long range missiles and aircraft, and possibly, nuclear war heads. Drastic measures I know, but I don't see why Russia should be allowed to hit Ukraine without expecting the same destruction in its own territory. The one alternative is for NATO to step in and issue an ultimatum, get out of Ukraine or we enter the war. A risky stance, but this would, make Putin think hard as to whether the war is really worth the consequences. He knows he couldn't defeat NATO.
After what happened in Jugoslavia you can still only see the western version here:
he attaced a severeign country and we can not just sit by? Really?
He is taking these 4 regions now as he took Krim last time. He ain't backing down.
The majority there are Russians or Russian decendants if you will.
Can't leave now, ever.
This is the Russian view of today.
Long term though you might get your will...
When todays strong leader is gone.
Ukraine army chief says that eastern Ukraine is under extreme pressure from Russian forces. The warmer weather makes it easier for advancing tanks etc. A British military chief thinks that this year could see an end to the war due to Russia's superior strength.
So, this really is when decisions as to whether greater support is given to Ukraine, or not.
but stop once that is accomplished.
making all 4 regions minus whats on the other side of the river Russian permanently.
Nato will not stop this now- and if they try you and me might die and the wole world as we know it will be no more.
The last scene from Planet of the Apes illustrates this.
The goal was to take the Donbas region just like in Georgia and they're not leaving without it.
Ukraine will not be able to join NATO while there are unresolved external territorial disputes.
Taxpaying citizens are paying to extend the war instead of financing services at home, it's money wasted unless there is a win but as I said Russia will counter any increase in Ukraine's effort.
The sooner everybody faces this reality the better. It's not just Putin either, Medvedev will be just as bad if not worse, so an early settlement could be crucial.

I also wonder about the outcome of these court cases...if it will sway voters...
Most importantly...does the US want an unhinged leader to be in charge while (international) political unrest continues?...
When you refer to an unhinged leader, who are you referring to?
That's a quote from the opening post.
Looks like someone had a change of heart with a vote now due on Saturday.
