As anyone who has ever taken a course in....

.....academic education knows, don't hold your breath for actually learning anything practical about teaching even a single kid. So it mostly is with instruction on how to do family or couples therapy/counseling. But a few useful sayings do seem to stick. Such as, actually a Jerry Seinfeld line, "There's no such thing as fun for the whole family". Or, on entering the hour, "How do you all feel about being here with us today?" And then there's, "No matter how good you may feel about one member of the clan, it almost always takes TWO to tango". And my favorite, the most effective phrase any client can learn, "Yes dear, that is such a good suggestion".

Brexit.....

....No witnesses in fake impeachment---VERY fake. Quick acquittal, then quick dispatch of all looney socialist, or worse, Democrat candidates by the Big Promise keeper-in-chief. More regional judicial appointments. Eight to one SCOTUS for LIFE. Narrow retake of House, retain/increase Senate. Then---finish wall, infrastructure, cut public broadcasting, begin unbiased alternative---taxpayer funded---to biased National Proletarian Broadcastingt (NPR). And he's just getting of the line. RIP, liberal interests. The voters got it in 2016, after the affirmative action demi Negro POTUS, and again in 2020. Suck it down, America haters. Hohoho.

The MCA.....

...Yet one more accomplishment of our Dazzling, Brilliant, Ivy league graduate President Trump. And not a small one either. And one more campaign promise completed. So he ditches poorly crafted NAFTA, with all the usual democrat warnings of complete North American economic collapse. Plays hard and rough with the Mexicans and Canadians, and they go along. Dems claiming it all only happened because they played ball as well. Now, isn't THAT special? So let's see, we could use the Micman or Willy's awesome help to list all the important promises kept. Get's a bit tough for me to keep track of such high numbers.

Income inequality...the gig economy...

A pair of related downsides of rank free markets. But in the latter case, new depths, apparently. "Micro work". Home based computer contract work, often at less than USD 1.00 per hour, if payment actually ever happens. Busy beavers might very rarely hit over USD 5 hourly, for 14 hour days. Boring work, on personal medical, product choice, lifestyle and other records data, gathered by the likes of facebook. Seems like it gets used to develop more 'human' AI. Was where expected, in dirt poor (Venezuela workers' paradise) countries. Now in the richer West. Nice. Check out the ethnicities of the rich suits behind this disgrace. Facebook, others.

I'm too clever for them

The scammers on this site aren't so smart. They try their hardest to get my email address out of me, but without success. Yet I have not the slightest difficulty in getting hold of theirs. drinking

Too much paper down the pipe...

It must have been last year when I flushed too much paper (among other things) down the toilet and clogged the entire sewer pipe. I bought a 50 foot plumbing snake and lots of drain cleaning chemicals to get the pipe open again. Doing the work manually took a few hours but the job was done. A few weeks ago the plumbing back-up happened again. I tried for 30 minutes with the snake. Having no luck and not wanting to fight with it, we left Miami for the condo and put off the project for the following weekend.
I decided to rent a 75 foot power feed unit from Home Depot. This thing was pathetically slow and I got about 60 feet into the drain line and it was still clogged. Setting the power feed to retract the coil jammed the mechanism and it would not retract. A call to Home Depot and they told me to wrap the coil as best as I can. I had to pull the coil out by hand (with rubberized gloves) and at the end of the snake was a chunk of 'something' that I originally thought was a clog of hair! Close observation revealed it was thin long roots. There are no trees in the area where the underground pipes travel. I know the old drain pipes are made from clay/pottery in sections about 6 feet long and the joints were sealed with tar. Over the years, the ground settles and water seeps into the soil. That's what attracts roots to grown to the water source and enter the pipes usually cracking them if this goes on for any length of time. So, I knew the reason as the paper (and poo) snagged on it's way to Washington D.C.

Using a few feet of copper wire wrapping I was able to get the coil around the outside of the machine and back to the store. They were nice to allow more time for the rental and gave me another machine that had a power feed at least 10 times faster than the broken one. We got back to the project and this time I added a cutter head attachment that's designed to shave off roots inside the pipe. The company who hires out to clean drains with a drain auger is Roto-Rooter. This is similar only cheaper as I'm doing it myself.

Less than 30 minutes with the new machine cleaned the clog. I ran it back and forth several times to be sure to scrape away as much of the roots as possible.

This weekend I gave it the ultimate 'poo down the pipe' test and all went well.
No worries!

It's Friday...

Friday the 13th to be exact and a full moon.
I fired someone this week, walked out of a doctor's office yesterday after waiting an hour and 45 minutes with an appointment. If someone else gives me shit my response may be less than pleasant.
Not enough time to paint my house I hired someone to do the job. Last week was perfect and now the weather is scattered showers for the next 5 days.

Loneliness

Have been out of a long relationship for almost 3 months and things seem strange sometimes. In general, I deal well with loneliness, but sometimes is not easy. Just wondering how everyone is dealing with loneliness, please feel free to share your thoughts if you like cheers
