we are awesome

This was sent to me by a friend and thought a good one to share.
From..The quote of the month  by   Jay Leno:   .

No matter what our kids And the new generation think about us,

WE ARE AWESOME !!!   OUR Lives are LIVING PROOF !!!

To Those of Us Born
1925 - 1970       :

~~~~~~~~~
TO ALL THE
KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE   1930s, '40s, '50s,   '60s and '70s!!
First, we survived
Being born to mothers who may have smoked and/or drank
While they were
Pregnant.
They took aspirin, Ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then, after that Trauma, we were   Put to sleep On our tummies   In baby cribs
Covered   With bright colored Lead-based paints.
We had no
Childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets,
And, when we Rode our bikes,
We had baseball Caps,   Not helmets on Our heads.
As infants and Children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, no booster seats, no seat belts,
No air bags, bald tires and sometimes no brakes..
Riding in the
Back of a pick- up truck on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water
From the garden hose and not from a bottle.
We shared one
Soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes,
White bread, real butter, and bacon. We drank Kool-Aid made with real white sugar.
And we weren't overweight.
WHY?
Because we were
Always outside playing...that's why!
We would leave
Home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights
Came on.
No one was
Able to reach us all day.
--And, we were
OKAY.
We would spend
Hours building
Our go-carts out
Of scraps
And then ride
Them down the hill,
Only to find
Out we forgot the brakes.. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned
To solve the problem..
We did not
Have Play Stations, Nintendos and X-boxes. There were
No video games,
No 150 channels on cable,
No video movies
Or DVDs,
No surround-sound or
CDs,
No cell phones,
No personal computers,
No Internet and
No chat rooms.
WE HAD FRIENDS
And we went
Outside and found them!
We fell out
Of trees, got cut,
Broke bones and
Teeth,
And there were
No lawsuits
From those accidents.
The Particular Beggar!
As I was pumping some gas into my car I was approached by this young man, probably about 25 or 30, on a bicycle. He didn't ask me for money he came out and said to give him a dollar.
I didn't answer him right away because I looked at his "position". He wore real nice jeans probably in the $50.00 price range. His pullover shirt was also looking pretty expensive as were his shoes. The kind you can look stylish in that are about $200.00 or so. And his bicycle was no cheap version, either.
I looked at him and told him. "I just spent my last dollar on this lottery scratcher. If I win some money I'll give you that dollar"! In a disgusting manner he looked at the ticket in my hand and just pedaled off without saying anything.
I didn't win anything but that was ok. My answer to him was what my intentions were, i.e., to make him go away. The disgusting look and all. No, I didn't think anything bad at all about him but in life no one needs to put up with rudeness and this DOOOOD was just that. Pretty rude.
And being calm always works!!
where there is life , there is movements
This past winter, I used old woolen to make two sweaters during my spare time, after that nothing special to do except looking after Dad's life as usual. Our time of entertainment is listen to the radio programs. Put less time on watching TV for going to bed early each day.grin
Dad have to stay in his bed all day long which make him boring, always confused with his mind of going to school, going to his working place, going to his own home but couldn't speak out of the real names and also messed up the time... sigh All these happened doesn't matter cos he is 96 years old and suffering from disease. But how can I do to pull him out of this bad situation?
Sometimes I just feel as if he was going to pull me down when I had to talk to him in his way again and again...help
But things were not too bad as oneday when I saw an unused woolen ball on the chair which was brought me an idea: I made it in a suitable size for both of our hands,then covered with a food bag to prevent it from loosen. Next, during dad's vivid time, ( late afternoon before dinner) I stood at the end of dad's bed, we palyed with ball tossing, this time it worked pretty well. yay besides, I don't worry if it would hurt my Dad as it is soft enought, I don't worry if it would run away easily as it is not perfect round. You all know picking up a ball always a tough job.laugh
Dad's skill of tossing ball is beyond my estimate. He even uses diversion tactic. I reckon he was a good player when he was young. uh oh Anyhow, instead of the mess things in his mind, the woolen ball brings us more pleasure time and laughing. I believe some movement is good for his body,and for me too.
Best wishes to you all! wine wave
Being always wrong
Some times it does not matter what we men say or do
We are always in the wrong..
For the lady on the blog..
Get Out Of Town
Get of town
before its too late my love
get out of town.
Be good to me please
Way wish me no harm
Why not retire to a farm
and contented to charm
the birds of the tree.
Just disappear
I care for you much too much
and when you are near close to me dear
We touch too much.
The thirll when we meet is so bittersweet
that darling its getting me down.
So on your mark
Get set
Get out of town...
ps. love Cole Porter.
Walk goog every one and enjoy your week-end..
If I had to describe myself
I dare to be a Human the iam,unfinished,but happy,
insecure in a new and yet inquisitive,sometimes anxious in decisions
confused in the oversupply of Ideas,but also enthusiastic about little things
Doubtful and hesitant,then again brave and serious,enchanted by words or withdrawn silent
Sometimes torn and full of contradictions,
but also one-sided and naive,
And even more I am,often fail to accurately describe,And yet I dare
to accept my self like this,
like i am,
whether I'm for it loved or not
I wish you all a nice Dayhandshake
