To the Beach

I took a quick walk around the city and headed to one Perth's great beaches. This is a little of where I live and what I do.

Life off the Record

Life off the Record is a new YouTube series I’m producing with musician Michael Vdelli as he takes us inside what it’s like to build and maintain a successful self-managed music career while navigating the many twists and turns that present themselves along the way.

With unprecedented access to record label discussions, agent negotiations, studio recording sessions, and the at times delicate matter of family business dynamics, Life off the Record pulls back the curtain on the music industry offering an intimate view of what life’s really like for an independent recording artist.

A wander around town with a trip to the port..

One of my favorite pastimes is to wander the city people watching. I particularly enjoy the quirky characters or unconventional types you see enjoying themselves - the eccentrics of the world add color to the palette of life, I think.

I recently took a quick trip from Perth city to the port town of Fremantle recording some of the people and sights.

Insomnia

I haven’t slept. It’s like a group of psychiatric patients escaped and decided to hide out in my head with tequila and a couple of piñatas - the festivities have been going for a day or two. I’ve tried drinking hot chocolate, burning oils, incense and meditating to no avail. I guess nothing can help you when your unhinged friends drop by for a party.

Sex would be the best remedy, but there’s nobody to have it with. The last person to let me lay on top of her naked with this body has been gone a while. She was a lovely woman though - generous, kind, patient, caring, all the qualities you’d look for in a partner. Allie was just a bit too much of a hippie though. She’s probably now married to a guy named Aura who runs a retreat in Bali called Cosmic Caresses where for a fee someone will hold you in their arms and whisper in your ear how important to the universe you are. I hope she’s happy.

I’d be happy if I could sleep.

Being sleep deprived is dangerous, and I’m not really the the dangerous type. My heart rate rises enough at the thought of drinking an under-chilled chablis - god forbid I have to deal with a faulty oven timer while baking a sponge cake - that’s living on the edge enough for me.

Oh to sleep. Maybe if I get drunk - no, that’ll just make me want to put on a Bee Gees record. I bet Barry Gibb was sleep deprived when he wrote Night Fever, and Staying Alive - that could have been a Tragedy…

Actually, writing this nonsense has proved to be quite an effective sedative - it will probably put everyone else to sleep as well.

Hey, hey, he's one Monkee...

Maybe you remember the 1960's teen sensations The Monkees. They were 4 guys who played music, sang and acted. Originally contrived by Columbia Screen Gems and Don Kirshner, The Monkees responded to an ad in Variety Magazine.
They had some talent to play instruments, but studio musicians played on their recordings for the first few albums. It's reported Jimi Hendrix was hired for live performances (that later proved to be a failure) as pre-teens couldn't get into his music.

Davy Jones, died of a heart attack at age 66 in 2012, leaving 3 Monkees
Peter Tork died of cancer at the age of 77 in 2019, leaving 2 Monkees
Michael Nesmith died December 10, 2021 of naturel causes at the age of 78.

That leaves, Micky Dolenz as the only surviving member of the band.

As the days grow shorter and the holiday season draws closer, people have always gathered with family and friends in togetherness and joy. With its roots in Christmas, Kris Kringle has become one of the most popular traditions to celebrate with family, friends and co-workers in the spirit of the holidays.

Mechanics :
-Choose anyone from CS family that you know you give that something.
-Everyday I will update the "clue" for us to have the idea what to give.
-okay I'll start

Just for fun cheering

Blue - Da Ba Dee...

I caught a shuffle dance video with the song Blue by Eiffel 65. Catchy melody and fun to watch the dancers. Growing up I played music and others danced as I had no interest. 20 years ago took dance lessons as the woman I was dating wanted to tango. Yeah, well that was money wasted.
There are a few YouTube videos that use this song and I researched some of the people who made the video and that also lead to the musicians who created it.
I'll play it over and over and over.

"MISSING YOUR FRIEND?"

My Son Had Two Cats.........One Was A Male Named "Captain".(Who Was Classified By The Shelter As Being Feral) He Sat In His Cage For Over A Year Until My Son Adopted Him...........And The Other....A Female Named "Julie" (Who Was Found In The Woods At About 2 Months Old And Abandoned By Her Mother) Trying To Catch Bugs To Eat.
They Were Both Together For 17 1/2 Years......Until Julie Ended Up With Cancer Of The Mouth And Had To Be "Let Go"...........That Was About A Year Ago
About 3 Months After Julie Died?..........Captain Started Doing Stuff Like Walking Around And Crying Out Loud Noises.Similar To What A Lion Does When He Is Searching For His Family (ive Seen This On Documentaries)
Im Wondering if His Loud Calling Noises He Makes About 5 Times A Day And Night
