Sure, we all know about the white guilt. The self loathing for success in life. But a prime character flaw is the sense that they have a monopoly on the political truth, and this leads to telegraphing of self perceived social virtue, along with that Mona Lisa knowing smile. Some things I like about ending the year are music countdowns and movie marathons. For example: back-to-back Star Wars movies so you can catch the parts you missed and 12 hours later watch them again!
It's been years since I've seen Planet of the Apes
Watching mankind annihilate themselves is always a plus!

Billboard listing of hit songs for each year brings back memories.
One hit wonders. It's amazing to see how many there are.

I was thinking singer David Coverdale was a one hit wonder, but a quick review has him with 3 top songs with the group Whitesnake for "Here I Go Again", "Is This Love" and "Still of the Night."
He's performed with Deep Purple, did some solo work, collaborated with Jimmy Page and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame!

For sure this weekend I plan to listen to Ronnie James Dio and make my own marathon. Ronnie sang for Black Sabbath, Rainbow (with Ritchie Blackmore) and Dio with Doug Aldrich on guitar!

.....has this tonight. Rated as one of the greatest films ever, I watched it years ago, and yawned all the way through. Will see if the years have made me get more into it.
