NeWildflower: Waaaaaait!! How does a free health care system work then? If you can't get the specialized care necessary, what's the point? Should it just be available for things like the common cold, and broken fingers??
That's what was said. I don't see how it's childish by any stretch of the imagination. You admitted that sometimes specialized care is necessary, and if that can't be handled by the system that is currently in force, then what are people to do? If we are going to go to the trouble of implementing such a system, shouldn't it be one that could handle ALL medical needs? NO? You think it is perfectly okay then for those with special needs such as surgery, to have to locate that care somewhere else? Even if it means in another country?? Wow. Just wow.

You all need to move to CANADA!!!! We have one of the best healthcare systems in the WORLD...and you don't have to pay a cent. Although you do pay for medication depending on your plan at work...but just going to see the doctor for a prescription, surgery, having a child...ALL FREEE!!!! And the best healthcare around!!!

No...anyone can set a broken finger...I did it in the Army. But sometimes a person needs specialized care...and a certain hospital has a certain doctor that can treat it. That is what I was saying, but you chose to trivialize what I said.
Not every hospital has the best of every field. That has nothing to do with the common cold or a broken finger.
That is what I mean by childish!!
Shriners are great at treating burns. Moffitt is a cancer facility. But they can also treat the common cold
