i do believe that healthcare should be universal in america. although, i do know that people are afraid that our healthcare will become more substandard, ie: waiting in line, having to wait for procedures/surgeries.

I'd prefer to give people free food, housing, cars, gas money, vitamins, exercise bikes, etc. That seems like a better deal.
pretzelman: These are the ones who should be regulated....then all could afford health care. THEN there would be no need for "universal" health care
Oh, no. Don't regulate them. Change the whole effing structure. Do you know how much an LPN can actually do? But can't because the "doctor" has to sign off on everything or its not "legal".
pretzelman: If everyone had the same health care available...all would have equal entitlement. If you choose better health care, then by all means, go for it. But it would be your option. 5 million people out of work now....at least five million without health care?? Is this what you like to see??
Ship, I think 5 million is a rather low estimate and the number of people in the US (not counting the ones who recently lost their employment) without healthcare insurance is a lot higher. I think in my earlier post I mentioned there were those who were without insurance by no fault of their own, so I guess my answer would be no, that is not what I would like to see.
However, what i don't want to see are the persons working, living in an oversized, expensive house, driving a brand new car and have failed to purchase a basic need (medical insurance), getting me and other tax payers to buy them something they could have afforded themselves had they used a little common sense and quit trying to keep up with the Jones'
Galactic_bodhi: Oh yeah. I'm so wrong. Sorry about that. Every doctor should be paid $150 an hour to tell me something the nurse already did in the waiting room.
the doctor doesn't recieve all that money. he has lots of overhead....malpractice insurance...

What can possibly be wrong with everyone American being able to have health care? Why the big push to deny health care to all Americans???
