There's this girl that like me and I like her but we are friends and we talk on the phone and sometimes there is silence and I feel odd when it is silent. I can understand some silence but it makes me question whether we are suited for each other. Maybe it's something I shouldn't worry about.

If she is just in silence thats ok , It it the look on her face you should look at, Happy , sad, exhausted ? Ask her questions when is silent and see where it goes

Nah. There's nothing wrong with that Radio. There will be times in a relationship when you don't have anything to say to each other, but that's not a problem really. It's when you don't have anything NICE to say to each other that its a danger signal.

If it's on the phone... yeah I can see it being awkward, but not really a big deal.
When you're cuddling and just staring into each others eyes, sometimes words just have no place there.

I have in my profile write up that I know I have found my SO when I can sit with her and say nothing and the silence feels normal. That both of us are comfortable without saying a word. A relationship that has envolved into this level is wonderful. Silence can be bad in some situations, but it is appropriate once two people like and/or love each other. Best friends enjoy silence; couples enjoy silence; and, lovers enjoy silence.
