My hesitations stem from like the news and hearing of what has happened to many girls and women....My hesitation doesnt really stem from him? Is that bad? like they say the internet can be a dangerous place is wher i am coming from and i am a mom of 2 which sort of sends my mother instinct to what if it was my daughter?...lol as a mom if I saw my daughter (wether he talked on the phone or not) going I would probably hog tie her to the bed!!!

By no means am I trying to make you paranoid or lose out. But if you really feel that uncomfortable then BY ALL MEANS take another adult with you. Do you have a brother? I'm just sayin'........

You have waited four years. I would say that is long enough. Good lord, I admire your patience and his.
I would say go, enjoy, take a financial vehicle with you, in case you need to leave. That is a word of caution.
I think you are nervous, worried and that is okay, but if you let fear stand in your way, you will never meet any person.
Go for it, have fun and if it does not work out then, chalk it down to simply that...

A full name, address and phone # are not too much too ask. Give them to family members or friends before you go and call home periodically to let them know you are ok. If you think the info may be false for any reason ... don't go.

I fully intend on being safe. He a few years ago came as far as vancouver but I chickened out (mind you at that time we had just met on CS and I felt not yet too soon) So he said well I tried and you didnt show so i told him my reasoning....and he replied well i totally understand and I know you wanna feel safe.Now 3 going on 4 years later he is asking can you accompany on the trip to Calgary?...for someone to talk to so the trip isnt so long? and I really want to. I cant help but think SAFETY FIRST though
