SummerUK: Ummmm its called being cheeky or having a sense of humour....It was a joke
Not meant in any way to be taken seriously...
I'm not sure you are getting my humour or the fact that I included God as being a mere man....
Therefore I will waste your time no more and keep my humour to myself
I feel we are all miricles I feel we all have a purpose, and we face so many miracles in life, that we cant even see them all! Just an Example, was the day you were concieved, and were just a bloody mess, Now yo have grown to be what you are today! That in itself is a Miricle

So dont be scared to show that humor,
Blimey! nothing much has changed over all those years Larry....
epicure: A man begs God to show him a miracle when the sun rises, then he goes on praying for witnessing a miracle when a butterfly with fascinating wings touches him and ask God why he wasn't shown a miracle all day long though he prayed so much when he heard the first cry of neighbour's new baby
OK, talk about IRONY!!! My cousin just emailed me something with this very saying in it!! WEIRD!!
sweetowen: Then you don't see life in color, Ambrose. You see it in black & white. When you see the miracles around us on a daily basis, everything is worth seeing, doing, hearing, tasting, touching, etc. Only in viewing reality/life, can we observe miracles, my friend.
I don't know, Sweet...not sure at all how you're defining "miracles." I certainly don't find reality to be colorless, and don't see why adding superstitious or other elements to it - assuming that's the kind of miracle you have in mind- makes it more interesting. It's infinitely variegated as it is, isn't it?

DazzleYou: As a doctor I have seen occurrences that are more than mere coincidences and can only be explained by divine intervention.
Medicine is a science as you know and nothing is for certain. Lots of things doctors don't understand. Just because something happens that you don't understand scientifically why something has happened doesn't mean it was God.
Which takes me back to previous question. Why would he help an old person or someone who doesn't have faith and let children die or let them starve.
I do believe in God but the one I believe in wouldn't do that. If he does then I wouldn't want to believe in him anymore.
druidess6308: Yes, I believe in miracles...and yes, I've seen them. I held each of my sons in my arms after they were born, and knew I'd just experienced a miracle. Life is a miracle.
Bingo! My oldest had the cord wrapped around his neck 3 times, so i guess the fact that he lived was a miracle. emergency c-section.
My daughter was natural and no complications..another miracle. I

That just means that either science hasnt theorised them yet (which is doubtful) or chance came into play - but divine intervention has no scientific basis - if anything, divine intervention remains an untested theory, same as prayer......
Yes I believe in miraculous events as I have lived several directly, and many indirectly that I witnessed personally.
One such thing for myself happened in a small pickup truck that I was a passenger in over 20 years ago. The truck flipped end over end 7 times and rolled over 14 times (according to police investigation and eyewitness)
I had no seat belt on, and my window down. when the truck came to a stop I felt quite cramped and saw my window was now above my head, so I began to climb up and out through the window.
The eye witness stated to the police that arrived later that he watched my hands come out of the side of the truck through the window opening and saw me pulling my legs out with my hands because they were kind of wedged in, they stated then that I turned and jumped down to the ground and walked over to them asking if they were ok. I also remember doing these things but wanted to clarify they were verified by the witness.
When they checked me over for injury I had a 2" long very shallow cut (band aid for a day) on my right arm and nothing more, no bruises even. But officers refused to believe I had come out of the truck. They even wrote I had been thrown from the vehicle on the first flip. I argued as did the witness but they simply wrote I was thrown.
I went a couple days later to see the truck in the wrecking yard. When I saw the truck I was simply amazed. This was after they had cut the drivers side open and spread it out for getting my friend out of it of course...but the passenger side had roughly a space of about 18 inches by 9 inches by almost 21 inches... this was the only "open" space inside the cab on the passenger side. the motor and seat and door etc had simply been shoved all together...It had not appeared to come apart much during the extrication process either though the roof had been bent back a little, it was the drivers door and steering column that they cut away...
So anyway, that was one of several I have experienced first hand. As good ol Ripley would say... believe it or not. Doesn't matter to me since I lived it.
sweetowen: Have you ever witnessed a miracle? Please, do tell us about it.
When I was two years old, I was so ill, the doctors told my parents they didn't know what else to do for me. I couldn't eat as my whole mouth had gone all funny too, Then my aunt brought in some Holy water, and my mother dabbed some on my lips and around my mouth. Next thing you know, everything cleared up. Whatever happened, some poweer(s) was at work. And I was way too young to consider it placebo.

Sort of understand what you mean. I think that if there is a god, he's so far removed from humankind that our petty trials/needs/circumstances are beneath his notice. The only miracles are the ones we make for ourselves or are too ignorant to understand as yet.

Blimey Fil! I'm surprised you posted that...
I guess my family doesn't deserve Gods help in any way...
If someone can explain why He helps some and not others that'd be great
He seems to help people get jobs..survive drugs overdoses, He helps murderers and thieves even child molesters and ordinary people who Only 'see the light' after he's supposedly helped them....Why some and not others??????
