Konigsberg: Hmmm... does it mean that we not belivers or people who believe in anything but God ... are doomed. Are we going to fry on a sticks or drown in a whitches chairs?

I always thought that Life is all about diversities and differences and freedom

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. I said nothing about believers or witch hunts in your quote of me.

I am in total agreement with your last statement!handshake

Technically Catholics also believe in Jesus. It’s just a separate denomination of Christianity. Its not worth splitting hairs over.

Well, the terrible acts and crimes of the Catholic Church (certainly widely forgotten, traded with silence about other criminal gangs, smoothed and masked, etc...etc) have caused so much damage in mankind at the level of conscience. I think this affects everybody at different levels of human misery. And that is the way the principle of action reaction from nature works in this respect. Mankind has been overrun by a terrible spiritual pollution and falsity, well, there we go. I as an atheist and the pope likely have the same level of poison and human crap inside and somehow we are both doomed, not because of our religious position that makes us targets or not of "a venegful karma", but because of our common inheritance imposed and/or consciously grown.

I will simply say that I disagree with you. I do not believe Catholicism is a Christian religion. But I do not want to turn this into another bashing thread. So I won't discuss my views anymore, herehug

I wasn’t starting an argument with you and yes that’s your opinion and you are entitled. I am only taking the position that the Catholics observe Jesus and they are another denomination of Christianity. Like I said, it’s not the point of the thread to debate that. I suppose we could start another on it as I’m sure many Christians do NOT consider Catholics on their level. Part of the issue is the Virgin Mary and their insistence on placing so much devotional weight on her.

Well either way, many Christians seem to want to "distance themselves from the stench of Catholicism." I find it silly as they both hold Jesus to be sacred. I just consider Catholicism another branch on the Christian tree. roll eyes

I can give several reasons and examples where there are major theological differences between Christians and Catholics...but that is not the purpose of this thread. I'll respect Ooby's intenthandshake

I think another thread should be started on it honestly because it is kind of interesting. There is also a great deal of historical hostility between the Protestants and Catholics...Bloody Mary and so forth.
