It’s a cold world when there’s been a murder, and the police refuse to do anything about it!

I found the body earlier today myself. As I approached the spot I could see plenty of people were passing by, but none of them stopped and even looked at it.
What kind of cruel world are we not living in if there’s a dead body in the midst of a very populated street and no one even bothers to call the cops?

The body was well out in the open, you couldn’t miss it. Having watched CSI a few times I would estimate it had been dead half a day.

Dried out like a donut left out in the open overnight, the pigeon was lying on the ground with its feet up and beak towards the ground. Next to it were two pigeons minding their own business and strutting like nothing had happened. But I could spot something fishy straight away in the way they looked at me when I glared them straight into the eyes.

And you know, you always bloody know that the criminal(s) always go back to the crime scene, I’ve seen enough Columbo and Kojak to know this, so they would be my main suspect. They are.

How f* hard can it be, to just come down and interrogate these two bloody birds, but the local police refuse to have anything to do with it!

A pigeoncide has been committed.
I mean, it’s not likely that the pigeon had committed suicide, jumped off the roof above and killed itself! Someone obviously murdered it.

My bet is on the two love birds which were stood there on the very crime scene, so it’s probably some love drama, with the male bird (who I gave a special stern look), probably offing a rival.
You can’t get away with murder in my city! I will do something about this, and report back.

What you need, Sir, is to find amongst them the stoolpigeon ... the one who will squawk. But watch them closely; I have heard that at least one of them is a jailbird.

Ya' caught me! I confess! It was ME, ME, ME!

I shot the feathered son of a b* because he crapped on my convertible! He drove me to it - always launching bird bombs when I drove past the square! I didn't mind so much when it was cold and I had to keep the top up, but when the weather warmed up and I took the the top down and he couldn't even show the decency to aim for the hood, but instead chose ruin my leather seats...

Forgive me... Please forgive me. I haven't used a slingshot since I was a kid and I honestly just wanted to scare him a little bit. I never dreamed that I'd actually kill the dirty little b*! But now that I have... Oh, the remorse... (Ok, remorse mixed with gleeful exuberance!)

I promise I'll never do it... Wait! Here comes another one of the stinking little flying s* machines! Hang on - Gotta' re-load...

POW! Right in the freakin' boiler room!

C'mon ya little commie b*! I've got slingshot and a pile of rocks and all day long to sit here!

Uh... Mr. CaptainBeirutIII? I think maybe you'd better go check on the crime scene - There's TWO of 'em, now!

I’m heading to the crime scene now. I’m bringing white chalk to outline the body, and some cut of pieces from a striped shopping bag to seal of the area.

The abovementioned poisoning theory isn’t a bad one, and I will look into it, but I’m leaving more towards him being pushed in front of a bus. It’s not far off where one public transport drives past, and there were some dodgy looking marks near the body, as if it had been dragged along the asphalt.

I’ll keep you informed. This case of mysterious murder might find its solution and I can promise you that you’ll be the first to find out who done it.

Dang, we have a suspect.
This is turning out even more mysterious than predicted.

Were you quite sure that he was dead?

Might be the reason the two love birds were still hanging around - (a) be sure that he was - (b) to have another go at finishing him off - (c) to try and geret rid of the body - (d) to remove evidence left on the crime scene?

Another scenario:-
Or he simply could have "played dead" to observe the guilty couple?

confused

We’ve found that it can’t have been Kansas. The timeline doesn’t match.

And the body has been removed.

Not by police or medics so it’s evidently some serious crime behind this.

I'm not defending you're police to a certain extent but you said of you're people passing and not doing anything, same thing exists in NYC unfortunately and being retired NYPD everyone points fingers at the cops for the problems when in reality it's the criminal justice system that fails(first hand knowledge).peace

It seems it wasn't the man pigeon who did it, we now hold the female pigeon, this male dead pigeons former wife as the main suspect.

Bloody wimmin, ey?
