X_REBEL: Ahhh...i was waiting for this fruitless arguement about giving birth...can't see the relevance of prenancy and having babies pertaining to this thread either...nice try though...
I note in that comment that you didn't deny being a control freak. Also, YES, childbirth and pregnancy is important to this thread. If men had to go through childbirth, the population would soon die out............ So, to me, that makes the male the inferior of the species
X_REBEL: But still these so called heroines are in the minority...if they are even lucky enough to be mentioned...and as for the curse of pain involved in childbirth...you should never have eaten the "forbidden fruit"...
Since that fairytale didn't happen, that was an irrelevant comment.
Sommerauer71: When he gives me supporting evidence for his argument, then I will discuss.
If Reb just wants to wind the good ladies here up, then I'm out.
A topic such as this can be good, but I cannot have a reasoned debate from wild thoughts dumped in a thread.
You know me Dru!
That's what I'm waiting for, Sommer. Yep, I know you...and if he actually gives such information, then this will become very interesting. Yes, I'm waiting with you. Would you like some popcorn?

Sommerauer71: 1. Show me where history shows this.
2. Give me the facts.
3. Give me an example of religion in your view suggesting this.
4. Nature? Again, give me your thoughts.
Then we talk.
1. History clearly shows us that it was men responsible for most if not all inventions and discovories of the world...This is indicative of an higher IQ and supreme leadership...
2. The facts are to be found everywhere as history shows and as society is portrait presently...how many women own big businesses out there compared to the Bill Gates of this world?
3. Religion shows that man was created by God and women from man and the Bible clearly states the order of society = God, man, woman, child....
4. The male is the dominant specie in nature...the female might work harder, but when the male speaks or "roars" the female abides...
X_REBEL: But still these so called heroines are in the minority...if they are even lucky enough to be mentioned...and as for the curse of pain involved in childbirth...you should never have eaten the "forbidden fruit"...
Actually, they're only in the minority because most histories were written by men. Most of the history of peoples like the Celts is very populated with strong women as equally as strong men...if you go back to the songs of the druids, before the christian priests came along and promulgated this fallacy of women as inferior and society as patriarchal, and shoved it down everyone's throats under threat of death if one didn't conform.
Egyptian history also has many strong queens. As does early Roman history. In Israel the women fight beside the men, and you wouldn't want a female Mossad agent to torture you any more than a male one. So, the only place in history I find this notion of women being inferior is within christianity. I actually walked out of a church service once, much to my father's objection, when the subservience of women to men was the subject of the day. He considered me disrespectful for leaving. I told him he was hypocritical for not leaving, since it went against his beliefs as well.

No, it shows that women had an inferior education because men were in charge and so afraid of women's superior intellect and abilities that they needed to try to grind us under this way.

There are several today. Goldie Hawn, for one. Oprah Winfrey, for another. There are also many top female CEO's now, too...Pepsi Co. has one, for example.

And who said that they're right? Or even that they were translated properly? Have you read the history of the Nicene council and what Constantine did to the early writings? Almost all of that book you consider holy was re-written by monks under his decree. Original scrolls (yes, the Vatican holds them in their vast basement) actually show wording like "gods", not "God".

Oh, as far as the forbidden fruit goes, since "you" bought it up... Were you not "convinced" by the "inferior" woman to take a bite? And again I ask, who is going to give you these kids "your" profile says you want.

What a load of .....!
A man cannot be the Mother of God. This is a privilege reserved for a woman, Mary. She is considered greater than ALL PRIESTS (excluding Jesus) COMBINED.
