Littlewolf, you must be a born again. Otherwise I almost gave up. Usually I post this type of question to check if I am dealing with a right site. It is unfortunate that people are not interested more with born again issues. God bless you. Lets share more

Sometimes I'll lok at somebody and think to myself in my mind,''This guy wii never get ahead.''

.....And I can just here a voice in my mind saying..''Bite your tongue WALL.''

THERE is nobody beyond the scope of the higher power.....NOBODY.

I've seen dead men get up and walk.

I know I got to a stage where I saw no hope in the present or the future and I saw people with faith and I so wanted to share their apparent 'inner peace'.

I could not forgive myself for what I'd done in the past (a little like my own situation now).

Psychologically it was wonderful to have the terrible burden of guilt 'taken away' from me, but I was then unable to progress in my 'new life' as a Christian.

Everytime I gave myself up into the hands of God I had everything I needed but everytime I then wanted things I didn't really need I was thrown back down into the total pit of despair and financial ruin.

Then my father died and I could see that the 'good' man who had tried for years to convert my dear dad into a Christian was a false religious zealot and I again turned by back on the church.

Since then my life has been pretty wonderful.

I found the most wonderful person to share my life with - a fantastic woman who just happened to be an atheist (which I am not).

I became an agnostic - not being able to take the interpretation that the majority of people of religious texts and the 'finality' of the bible and all the different Christian sects that have evolved (and the same with other 'mainstream' religions).

There are only two things of any importance in the bible:

Jesus said:

1. Love Thy God with all thy heart and soul.

2. Love thy neighbour as thyself.

I do my best with the second - but I cannot bring myself to love what is portrayed as an evil jealous always demanding blood sacrifices for the sins he made us possible of commiting God as portrayed throughout the bible.

According to the bible ALL sin must be paid for by blood sacrifice - and the 'fact' that God sacrificed His own son is totally disgusting and vile and horrible and evil.......... too much blood in this religion of false love for me.

What does born again mean to you? I am interested to hear your description of this process. Not so much the outer process but the inner process?

Thanks

PS: By the way, the 'why' is also not what I wish to know. Thanks again!

cheers

I turn to agree with you on the second thing of Love. In fact this was Gods sons teaching. He saw people were busy trying to please god when they were forgetting their neighbors. However since Gods son died for us. God saw that too much blood was involved that is why now a dys there is no blood shed it was shed once and for all.

Being born again is making your heart Gods temple house then every outward changes conforming to the inward.

For the zealot you are talking about am sure he had the outward christianity

wave referring back to Robert's thoughts, glad you mentioned the blood sacrifice of the son, Abraham and Issac. I read this as a story of submission and faith. Surely, no god of love wants true violence. I believe it tells us to be steadfast in our darkest hour and to trust and love god. Or something, woke up on the penitent side of the bed today.
