Jul 9, 2009 8:39 PM CST Ladies....Would you date a guy who is unemployed?
sassy49senior: Yes I would. There are several men or women who are on disability. I would have no problem dating a man who is
unemployed.

I don't think we are talking about men who are disabled or men who are retired.

I thought we were talking about able bodied men who happen to be unemployed confused

With the economy in such turmoil at this time, yes there are
many who are out of work. If he lost his job for a good reason
and is really trying to find another. Yes I would date him and
if we decided we decided we would like to take it a step or two
farther, I would help him finacially if he needed it until he
could work again. conversing

Snuggs09: I'm sorry HJ but "live for today" doesn't make sense.

I'm not attacking you but I think that attitude is why the economy is in the mess we are in. Everybody wanted immediate gratification, buy, buy, buy, charge it, charge it, charge it.

Not live "FOR", live "IN"..wink

Awh, J.D. and here i thought you were starting to mellow out a bithug
seriously though in answer to the question. I would date a man if he were unemployed, but, since i work very hard to support myself, and my son, i would certainly expect that eventually, said person would make an effort to support himself, as i could no more see supporting someone else longterm, than i could see someone supporting me.

Ladies and Gentlemen: WE ARE IN A DEPRESSION. 20.6 percent unemployment. It sort of behooves everyone to quick playing games and to latch on the one your with (as in the song). Things will get a whole lot worse. The Short Version:

February 2007 to February 2009: U.S. Recession
February 2009 to present: U.S. Depression

Tell me something I don't know about economics. The Great Depression II is about three years away due to the up and coming U.S. Hyperinflation.

I, myself, am looking for one woman before the hyperinflation begins this year.

Of course, you should date someone unemployed because you'll soon be unemployed yourself unless you're in the military.

Sure why not? If he was actually trying to find employment! I've been through this a couple of times where they did not plan on working. But were sweet talkers and knew how to play the game. If it were to happen I would only have ramen noodles in my cabinets. rolling on the floor laughing

Almost everyone has been laid off at one point in their life or will be laid off. I have no problem dating someone who is trying to find another job. I have a problem with the unemployed who stay unemployed permanently. So yes, I would date an unemployed male if i kew the circumstances of why he is unemployed.
thumbs up

In response to: In this recession - 70% of the people who have lost their jobs are male ... I was wondering how the ladies here would feel about dating a man who is unemployed - perhaps has been for several months - thumps up or thumbs down ....? And for the men...if you are unemployed - would you keep pursuing dates - what would you do to spend less on a date - would you consider letting the woman pay for the day? or would you get creative and look for free/cheap things to do?

I understand how difficult it is to maintain a job anymore with factories closing, construction falling off because no one else can afford to build.

That being said, if their situation is temporary because they are hard working and actively looking for work I would not have a problem dating them. I am not much into getting out and spending money for a good time. A good time can be had at home with good company. That makes a bigger impression on me. peace
