In this recession - 70% of the people who have lost their jobs are male ... I was wondering how the ladies here would feel about dating a man who is unemployed - perhaps has been for several months - thumps up or thumbs down ....? And for the men...if you are unemployed - would you keep pursuing dates - what would you do to spend less on a date - would you consider letting the woman pay for the day? or would you get creative and look for free/cheap things to do?

Yes,I would.I don't see it being a problem if he's unemployed.It doesn't make him less of a man being unemployed,now does it?

Most who are unemployed are collecting unemployment, in the US, while they search for another job, so it would not bother me as long as he can pay his portion of the bills and his prior commitments if the dating turned into a relationship.
If he can not go at least Dutch Treat on a date, then no I would not be interested. Not interested in paying his way, if I was dating.......
I agree with PB - it doesn't make him less of a man to be unemployed. I would most definitely date a man who is between jobs and do my part to come up with some creative ways to enjoy his company with/without spending money.

Now that I am out of work - waiting for the next contract - I have time for dating.
During the boom, there was little time to find a partner.
So yes, I keep on looking, but not on this website.

I am retired.. I want a woman that has a good job and makes lots of money. My job is to sit at home eating Bon Bons, watching Judge Judy, Days of our Lives, Oprah, Dr. Phil, etc.
ANd yes, I do think a womans place is in the home. Straight home from work
I definately wouldn't date anyone unemployed. I have in the past and it seemed I paid for 100% of everything, all the time. They weren't even trying to look for a job. Thumbs down to that. Haha
