Of all the people in my life I would have to say my daddy has inspired me the most. He was strong and he endured much pain and sickness in his later years of life. When i was in the first grade this drunk man has improperly loaded a 1500lbs aluminum coil on a tow motor. when my dad was checking it in to be sent out it rolled off and landed on his foot. Instead of removing his foot, the doctors remade it out of artifical parts, skin grafts, and muscles from his back. He had a severe heart attack on the operating table. Needless to say, he was permenately disabled. Afer numerous operations he had a massive stroke when i was in the third grade. This took away the one thing he enjoyed doing and he was very good at. He could never make music again, but he kept trying to get his dexterity back. He only attempted to play at home. Then we he had to have his foot amputated, w/out being put to sleep, when i was in the 12th grade. He later got his prothethic leg and wouldn't leave the house until he could walk w/out a cane! He later had the opposite hip broke, congestive heart failure, multiple heart attacks, and he ended up on kidney dialysis. He never stopped driving and he never gave up. On Sept 28, 1998 he died of a massive heart attack. He will always be my strenght when life is at it's worse.

My mother and my father have both been true inspirations to me.
My dad was and still is my inspiration;he passed in '05. I was a daddy's girl growing up,I got my way most of the time. However, being one of 13,my mom and dad always treated us equally and loved us just as equally.I was named after my grandfather, maybe that's the reason my dad paid special attention to me and spoiled me. Miss you.

There are many people who've inspired me throughout my lifetime. When I was young, I lived with my grandparents for a year. I quickly became Grandpa's little girl. His kindness to me gave me strength & self-worth. He was the 'dad' I'd always dreamed of, since my own father was an alcoholic.
My grandmother was a strong woman. She became a widow in her 50s & worked well into her 70s. She was a good God-fearing woman, who taught me morals & ideals.
My mother was one of the strongest, most independent women I've ever known. She taught me to stand on my own & depend solely on myself. Now, I'm not saying that I never depend on others... what I mean by that is that if I want to do something, I'll do it & not fear.
My step-father took on 3 teenage kids when he met my mother. When they first met, I couldn't stand him because I accused him of "breaking up our family". I grew to love that man more than words can explain. He is still one of the most wonderful men in my eyes. He's always been there for all of us if we ever needed anything. And he's been a wonderful "Papa" to our children. He's loved & admired by our entire family. He treated my mom like gold up to her dying day. God blessed us with him.
I would have to name my father. He has always been driven and worked for everything he has. He is still alive and I probably don't tell him how much he means to me but he knows. While I didn't always feel that way and I had a lot of resentment towards him when I was younger I can understand a lot better having a child of my own. He has been through a lot and came out on top he is experiencing difficulties now and he never gives up he strives to make his situations better everyday and he knows how to work hard.

the two people that have truly inspired me are my grandfather and my father. in both cases they were self made men. they made somthing of themselfs from little. neather had much to start with and by determination made a life for themselfs and thier familys, doing what had to be done, sacrificing for the good of the family. they were and are selfless, giving, and both are men that I hope some day to be.
