While discussing the upcoming Universal Health Care Program with my
sister-in-law the other day, I think we have found the solution. I am
sure
you have heard the ideas that if you're a senior you need to suck it up
and give up the idea that you need any health care. A new hip? Unheard
of.
We simply can't afford to take care of you anymore. You don't need any
medications for your high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, etc.
Let's take care of the young people. After all,
they will be ruling the world very soon.
So here is the solution. When you turn 70, you get a gun and 4 bullets.
You are allowed to shoot 2 senators and 2
representatives. Of course, you will be sent to prison where you will get
3 meals a day, a roof over your head and all the health care you need!!!
New teeth, great!!! Need glasses, no problem. New hip, knee, kidney,
lung,
heart? Well bring it on. And who will be paying for all of this. The same
government that just told you that you are too old for
health care. And, since you are a prisoner, you don't have to pay any
income tax.

I really think we have a Perfect Solution!!!

Don't get me started HJ. mumbling I am so damn tired of writing letter after letter after letter and receiving run around answers that make no sense. Which politicians are well known for doing exactly that. My aim may not be what it was when I was 40 but I think I could hit them right where it hurts rolling on the floor laughing

I'm young and I don't want universal healthcare. That's why people should WORK!!! Pay for it like everyone has been doing all this time. While other countries have it, that may be fine for them, but I don't believe it is right for us. My brother had to be hospitalized for 3 weeks and has no insurance and it sucks but he pays them a little each month to take care of it. I don't pay taxes to support healthy able bodied people to sit on their fat asses and not do a damn thing. Yes Sassy I write too and get no real answersfrustrated

Best idea yet. Meet you there.applause

We used to have an indigent (for want of better word) in my home town when I was a kid. In the summer, he slept where ever, and bummed whatever. Every winter he got himself thrown in the county jail for free room and board. Don't feel sorry for him, he was happy and did it 'his way'.

on a more searous note. I have mixed emotions on the whole universal health care thing. I had no insurance, could not work and was in and out of the hosp. for several years, this added up to 50,000+ dollars. moreover even if you get a job that you do get health ins. there is the whole pre-existing condition clause. and the expensive cost of it, for my family with my co. paying a % it runs in the 400+ a month. I realize that universal health care may not be the answer but there does need to be some reform. take the people that just cant get ins. if I didnt have a group I cant get it on my own because of my conditions.
