When I first became a member,I will admit that I felt intimidated by some members.I didn't post on the threads because of this. But,as I read the forums and what was being said in them,I felt a need to join in because others (members) were having fun discussing and what not.I don't think I ever got a reply to any of my posts. But,I participated all the same.As time went by, I was given the attention which lead to the making of friends and also foes.
Have you been in this situation before? What did you do to become a part of the pack,so to speak? Or,if you've never posted in the forums and have read this, why not join in?All it takes is one post, who knows, your SO may be here on top or below you.

I was surprise at how fast I was able to make so many friends here. They have all been good folks. Especially that Polarbutterfly chick. Don't let her intimidate you...
I just jumped in, made comments and didn't mind what anyone said to me...no one has intimidated me. I've made some wonderful friends through CS and that's all to the good!
Oh it is sooooo scarey to begin with , it only takes a few nice comments and your hooked , only been here a little over 3 weeks , most of you are really sweet , most

Sorry but I've never posted to be part of any pack. I like posting cos it shows my views and lets potential friends or partners see just who I am and what my views are. Sometimes my views coincide with the majority. Other's I've had to swim against the tide of opinion. I don't know if I've ever changed the opinion of another but on a few occaisions, they have changed mine.

i can related to alot of what you said...............when i joined i would come here and spend time just reading the threads and following the forums, i felt kinda nervous at first but then i started posting a few threads, i was ignored alot and i am still being ignored but i have not let it bother me and i still offer my two cents and not worry whether its accepted or not. Now i do enjoy just coming here and looking around. some folks here just crack me up and i have found this place can be a great place to relax and get social for a few hours.
I joined here reluctantly as I didn't want to get drawn into this cyber world, I didn't think I had the time for it !!! And I am not looking for a partner at this time. When I discoverd CS, and was not registered, I was interested in some of the group discussions and it was a science thread I wanted to get invloved in which made me join up.
The thread died off so I started to roam and the rest is history. I so enjoy the humour, the learning and the lovely people.
At first I would say it was exciting and incredibly addictive but not intimidating.
