boban and raveno broke my cherry. i had posted in 3-4 threads and no one posted after me and i was thinking i needed a shower or something ??? then my 5 th post i said to be carefull or i would kill that thread too and boban jumped on that, and raveno informed me that was her job.
Raven0: I spent some time just reading the threads, it helped me get an idea of the people here. In most cases people talked freely and decently towards one another. I didn't feel intimidated at all, just amazed and relieved that the people on here are clever, intelligent, witty and generally great to listen to. ( I suppose 'read' would be the appropriate word there ) So I found it easy to jump in and have my say.
I have never really been part of the pack. At least I don't think I am. I see myself as a background character. I make the occasional comment, weird in most cases. Then fade back into the woodwork so-to-speak.
Woodwork? There aren't any trees down there.
I'm not a part of any sort of pack either, very much a solitary creature.

Right on that, the lack of trees around here is weird for me. Since moving from the north to the south... plus the extreme amounts of cowboy hats...*shudder*

Polarbutterfly: When I first became a member,I will admit that I felt intimidated by some members.I didn't post on the threads because of this. But,as I read the forums and what was being said in them,I felt a need to join in because others (members) were having fun discussing and what not.I don't think I ever got a reply to any of my posts. But,I participated all the same.As time went by, I was given the attention which lead to the making of friends and also foes.
Have you been in this situation before? What did you do to become a part of the pack,so to speak? Or,if you've never posted in the forums and have read this, why not join in?All it takes is one post, who knows, your SO may be here on top or below you.
*Discuss but choose your words wisely.
You intimidated?
I find that incredible............. I find you an awesomely intimidating person whom I look up to with great respect.
I would be really scared to get on your wrong side - or on top of your post instead of below you etc!
There are those who like to intimidate and control others in threads ......they go overboard to maintain control ....especially if it's their thread ....
But it doesn't take long to figure out the ones that initially seem intimidating - yet are able to occasionally back off and chuckle at their own stubbornness ..........
But there are a few who are like pit-bulls and need to be occasionally stomped on .........

I was just myself...
Cracking jokes helps to become "established", whatever that means...
Me too!
