But why should we expect anything? Isn't it better to accept that which is done than worrying about something we might, or worse, should get in the future. Seems like a big waste of energy that could be spent on much more worthwhile pursuits like living our lives better.

But thats what makes life interesting, just because we expect something it doesn't mean something bad will come out of it. Nobody knows when something will happen, expect the unexpected. Being like this actually helps me enjoy life.But why should we expect anything? To go through life only loving ...human emotional growth is stunted
Emotional pain Is needed ......it is part of growth ...it teaches us how to protect and prepare for life's hardships .....without it at some point , when something goes wrong a break down isn't far away
In any relationship we need all emotions to keep the relationship healthy .....Love alone will not do it .......JMO

I totally agree with everything you've said here. GENUINE love is UNCONDITIONAL. It never wants, or expects anything in return. No expectations; no disappointments. Genuine love wants nothing in return. Real love is it's own reward.

Don't worry Jan, this thread started in one direction but as you say it's lost...about 6 pages back I just decided to use this as my nights entertainment. it's not me who's taken the bait...
But one thing this thread does illuminate is how people are scared to death of the truth when it flies in the face of their fantasy worlds. Sad statement really but I won't let that spoil what has been quite entertaining...I just hope the other posters were as entertained as I was or it would be such a shame.
