Ok, so I just got an email from a local man. YAY! Right? Lives only 20 minutes away, HUGE bonus! Little bit younger, but you never know. So I open his mail. Wants to know if I would like to get together with him and watch him.... self satisfy.

jaw drop

I deleted him without response. Was I wrong?

Why was it wrong to delete without a response? Why are you questioning it? Why am I asking why?

You respond in the way that is best for you...no one else's opinion should matter.hug

One of the common complaints I hear is that women don't respond to emails. (Some men don't either.) It was a knee-jerk response, you know. I despise when people don't respond to me. Am I being a hypocrite?

I can see why now you would be questioning it...but 'knee-jerk" reaction aside...what exactly could you have said that would not have pissed him off anyway?

He could have been kind enough to ask to meet first then maybe an email or two later ask if you would like to watch.

So no, I don't think you are being a hypocrite...and your response was normal, most of us would have done the same.hug

I'd have reported him, and copy/pasted the email into the report. That's how I always deal with those ones. wine

No...it wasn't what I'd consider a valid email that politeness would dictate responding to in any way. hug

C'mon, Ali, you would never write to a woman like that! I want a 'partner', but I also want respect.

You mean, say, watch him read passages from the Encyclopedia of Philosophy (one of my favorite methods of self-satisfactionsmitten)?

If so, you were probably right to delete him without response. I know from experience that we intellectuals can be tough to deal with. blushing sad flower beer

There is absolutely no need to justify ignoring something you consider disgusting.

Maybe you'd like to question your own motivation for what you've posted.

Do you really need people to tell you that you are right or were you just bursting to get the attention from the 'shock' value?

I'm not having a dig at you........ I'm just asking you to ask yourself what your motivation is, that's all.

We're all attention seekers here - or we wouldn't post anything at all!
