Well I recently read one of your posts on the the other side and it was a beacon of light in the fog and it did appear to lead a slightly lost member away from the rocks into clearer waters. That takes a lot of skill, control and sensitivity. We may not mention it,but some of us do notice these things. So well done and merry christmas.cheers

Elley: Ok let me explain...I left for reasons stated and a lot more besides. Then I came back due to lots of folks saying please dont go and I was so touched I decided to come back, never realised quite how well thought of I was. Then I had some misunderstood contact with somebody in private, dont ask cause I aint telling The misunderstanding was cleared up and so I came back again to maintain contact with this person. Apologies to all for my jack in the box antics. And now I have to go get the house and things ready for a very special person,my 8 year old son who is with me for a week from tonight. I am as excited as he is. I know many of you, like me,have a difficult even lonely and sad time at Christmas, but things do get better believe me. There was a time not too long ago when I was so so alone and depressed I just didnt see the point of going on. I had to fight that and it was not easy. Now I am past all that thank god. So to all those for whom this period simply means sadness and more, it does get better, more than you can concieve. To the rest of you, Merry Christmas and a happy New Year

That's wonderful, Elley. A very special time for you both, no wonder you're so excited. At teh age of 8, a boy really bonds with his dad. My son never had his father around when he needed him, in fact, would refuse most opportunities to spend time with his son even though it was offered to him on a platter. So it's particularly heartwarming to know the very opposite can and does happen.

Well my first ex did a very good job of denying me contact with my kids from that marriage for no good reason and the uk legal system was a toothless tiger.I do hold the uk law partly responsible for our lost years. Still I got them back in the end and we are all good. In Spain the second ex tried the self same trick, but in this respect at least the law here is a lot more supportive. Still I had to fight for him tooth and nail, but he,s worth it and more, I would die for him and without him. He really is a joy. My little man. Anyway thanks.kiss

Ps: You gotta fight like hell but learn to take a lot of knocks on the chin. The kids know whats going on but dont want to rock the boat. Dont worry, it all gets put right in the end, but you gotta be in it for the long haul and have the patience of Job. Merry Crimbo. Just try to enjoy your kids and fight for them like your life depended on it.thumbs up

Sadly, I have heard so many similar stories.

I can't comprehend why any woman/parent would do that to their child, for the sake of some misguided, immature sense of reprisal towards the other??? I ti s so, so unforgivable to the child and the other parent.

I have a friend whose son is in such a position. His ex has relocated from Brisbane to Japan, tkaing their only child, a 7yr old boy, with her. And all because the ex has now clearly found himself some happiness with another. sigh

Fraid some women use their kids as weapons. What pisses me off is they were the ones who had an affair,so I was punished for something that they did,not me. Sick minds. Anyway enough of that crap, tis Christmas and all is well, cept the little monkey just beat me at footy on the Playstation I got him.rolling on the floor laughing very mad

We didn't have all this electronic gadgetry in my day. I remember in my undergrad days, we had to inout all our data onto punch cards. And the computer took up the entire room!!!

Be brave, Elley, and go give it another go. It's all in the wrist action!uh oh

Ahh Elley ... There is a very true very old bibilical saying ..... "God restores the years the locust ate".

I believe this ... it has come true with me ...... 42 years its taken .. but everything that was taken from me, has been restored ..... and not only is it restored, it is "brimfull and running over"!

Everything in this world is a circle .... even birds build their nests in a circle .. the world and its moon are a circle .... and life is a circle ... and everything goes round and round and round ... till the circle is completed!teddybear

As smokey says; It's all "swings and round abouts" But she says it as Ven said more... Poetically... Basically; What goes around, comes around!!!

But would also like to add..... What Elley has gone through, not all women, put their ex hubby/partner, through that! Some of us women do realise that their kids need their dad. Regardless of the crap, the two parents may of been through!!
