When I look at the number of women I met and thought they were not a good match, I question if my expectations were too high. Likewise, myself selected as not a good match by others. Are our fantasies taking the place of reality? confused

I think it depends on what you are looking for. For example I don't think looks, and a perfect body are important. I want a man with a good heart and one that is going to be my best friend. I want to feel comfortable around him and just be myself. I see older men wanting kids, a certain type of body, a certain education, a certain height, etc. I think if you are too specific or picky; of course you won't be a good match to many women. I am a basic gal and looking for a basic guy. Looks, body, and money are not an issue with me, but that is just my opinion for what it is worth. teddybear

Why shoot for the bottom to start with....luck is what we all need. Finding someone is hard whether you choose to find a 'perfect one' or anyone.

But John...what if you find that "perfect one for you". and then you happen to not be that "perfect one for her"?

Going that way...you double the chance of NOT finding that special one!

I do wish you well in your search as well!

cheers

Guess you are missing the point; there is no perfect person. Who said you have to shoot for the bottom; I am just saying being realistic.

But would it not hurt more, if you got "burned" by what you considered to be the "perfect" one?

I know, I've been burned twice as well, and I thought in the beginning they were the "perfect" one!

Think about it, and good luck to ya!

I think that when were single....and have been single for awhile you get a really good idea of what you want. But that also enables you too overlook people that you dont neccessarily match with on paper. I think that you have to get to know someone either, by email, real life, phone something. To get to know what your compatibility is instead of trying to match what you want.

you are a wise man my dear. As I said there is no perfect person but I agree there is a person perfect for you. I often wonder what men consider a perfect woman? Guess to each is own. I guess I was stating that he didn't have to be a 10 in looks and body, and didn't have to have a lot of money; just a good man.

Thanks for the kind words...

He just has to be a 10 in YOUR eyes, regardless of what number anyone else gives.

We all have our own "rating system" built in!

I may say your a 10, and someone else may say a 5...but that doesn't make you any less than what you are !

I understand you perfectly. joy

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!
