Ever have someone IM you when you are in the middle of typing a post and it gets deleted? Its a royal pain as you have to start all over again. Experienced that last night as someone kept typing to im me - I don't mind iming ... but at least ask me before.

I have my turned off, but I would turn it on if someone requested to chat with me. Then I started getting these messages from Norton stating that my firewall was blocking intrusions. Kinda scared me, so I don't use it at all anymore.

IM is a pain in the butt .. I have mined turned off (and Ive stated that on my profile) but still heaps of guys keep giving it a shot

I keep my off fot the same reasons as you, one IM cancelling another, plus I have no idea who the IM'er may be. I think as a first contact an IM is a little cheeky where a nice mail might be more successful.

So you would think! There was one guy who must have appeared about 50 times on my WVM list over many months. So I would have assumed he had plenty of opportunity to read my profile, particularly as it is not very long, and not difficult to understand. It is written in English!
So, what does he do? IM me!!!
Then when I turned it off without responding, and politely sent him a flower to remind him of why I had, he replied saying all he wanted to do was chat, and that he didn't bit! I haven't bothered to respond!
