When it comes to being rejected on here, would you prefer the person you message, reply back telling you, they're not interested or just ignore you, without saying anything?

I prefer their silence. I guess because then their non answer will tell you that they are not interested.

I have heard some people say that they were insulted when they replied back that they was not interested.

Which do you prefer?

Just a short reply acknowleging your message would do. Yes or no it does not matter, at least let them know.grin wine

I've only sent maybe 5 emails to guys who I thought
were compatible to me or I felt were someone who I
can relate to.I'm not much for being the first to
make contact, that's just me (somewhat shy at first).
And from those that I've emailed,only one was compatible;
we were in a LDR for about a year but due to the distance,
things fell apart.I have the other four as friends.

Now when it comes down to explaining (via email) that
I'm not interested in a guy,I'm polite about it.
And if he has a problem with "rejection" ,deal with
it and move on,there's no need for any attitude or
childish behaviour (have experienced this).

As for me being rejected? It hasn't happened.

(NJ,please don't hold your breath) roll eyes

doesn't really make a difference to me.
i usually present no reply as an option. there really shouldn't be any pressure
on anyone. they are either interested or they are not. it won't hurt my
feelings if they are hard pressed to find the words to tell me so.

Would prefer if the person had the decency to be honest and say it was over or they were not interested than to be just ignored - silence speaks volumes but also shows a lack of integrity - a little courtesy goes a long way ..

I don't know about that. I might have missed out on someone really great had I not politely replied and said 'thanks for the mail.'

Personally i prefer either a Hey, how are you doing? or a You can go to hell. I would rather just hear it as i have never simply liked being ignored.

i dont always make first contact either - but if its first initial contact no response is ok but i agree if you have been messages for a little while then its respectful to respond then to just all of sudden go quiet.
