Culturally in my era, women waited until they were asked.
I have found from my time on here, that generally, men I have had to ask on a date weren't worth my time, no guts or backbone.
My attitude is that I have filled in the criteria for a profile and if someone likes it then they can contact me. If not, fine too. I am not in the business of chasing anyone.
Meanwhile I make friends and chat with people.

For me, it is personal insecurities caused by a failed marriage, two relationships afterwards that shouldn't have happened, and financial. I see ladies all the time, thinking I would really like to get to know that person, but I hold myself back.
What's your deal ? I have to go to work now and see what I can do about the financial insecurities now ~!!

I am similar to you Jeeps but in addition I have kids to see through schooling etc until they are independant [prayer emote] so I'm not going anywhere for a few years yet. As for someone coming from abroad to live with me .... I'm scared of the sudden intensity of that one. Finding a local lass is really the solution for me. I need to get out on the bus more I reckon ....

Well Jeeps Im not a person that holds back usually but its difficult to start an LDR with anyone really no matter where they are. If theyre not within 100 ks theres really not much future.

I can understand that, a the past can leave scars that last a life time. Perhaps not everyone gets over a failed relationship but in time it just gets easier to deal with. For me the past is exactly that. I am not going to spend hours upon hours analysing why something failed, why, because you can see right before your very eyes happening.

I have friends in Canada who live in Ottawa. Also, I been to Sault Ste Marie many, many times.... beautiful places in the summer, but I can't handle the winters up there. JMHO...
