Almost meaningless, as are most pre election budgets.
Most of the measures wont be implemented until after
the elections, so chances are, they wont be implemented
at all.

Does he know black magic? laugh From what I understand, he is under a tremendous amount of pressure in such a short time. The economy has become self-aware and can't be contained. I've said it before, a new sector really needs to explode. Like the green sector.

I am aware Green is big business in Sweden, not a bad economy or social security system either. A very good role model in my opinion.

Very true indeed elsson. Too bad for the Chancellor. Timing is everything at times. The state of the US economy paved the way for the first black President to step in to office. I also suspect that if the economy were in great shape, this health care reform bill would have not been so controversial. Timing! Clinton was blessed with it as he presided over the best US economy in history. The Clinton days were good times in America.

It seems when the economy is in the dumps, new doors are opened for new political leaders that may be considered on the fringe. And the party who was responsible for it or were the victims of bad timing, paid the price. The same thing happened with Carter and the Democrats when Reagan was easily elected.

It's growing in California as well, and Obama has invested millions into the Green sector---a promise he kept---though it's not enough, but blame can be assessed to Congress on that one as well as unwilling private investors. However, private investors/venture capitalists are starting to see the growth potential in the Green sector. So that's encouraging.

A typical pre-election prudent, on the fence type afair. The usual easy suspects targeted of course, the drinkers and smokers.

10% on cider and alcopops to deter the young, yeh right that's really going to do it ! Ban alcopops outright is what should be happening !

No political party is going to do anything radical with elections so close. Public sector jobs need to go now but their votes are needed so they're safe until after the election.
