I turned my off sometime ago and it has been so much better. Haven't turned it back on at all... But thats a thought with arrangements I may consider it...

Yep - mine is off - I learned really early it was the best way to go - cos you can't even tell who wants to talk to you each time anyway in order to screen them - perhaps if that feature was added I might consider adding it back on - but for now I note anyone who has tried is usually from somewhere and someone I am not in the least interest in talking to....
Mine is on all the time. I had trouble at the begining but I don't anymore. If it opens and it's not someone I want to talk to, I just close it and I have only ever had to block one person. Most people are respectful of if I want to talk to them or not. I don't get IM'd very often anymore.

TAGG72: Isn't the whole idea to chat to people and hopefully meet someone interesting? Doesn't turning off your IM make it more difficult?
