Andy2104: I am just days away from hitting the big 4 0 and I have to say I am not happy about leaving my thirties
Life begins at whatever age you want it to, hell I was only just getting into my stride at 40, I'm now 50 and growing old as disgracefully as I possibly can.
lovely4u7da: 40 is the new 20`s 50 is the new 30`s and 60`s is the new 40`s so it is all backwards from here on out you are your spirit not your age keep a young in heart spirit and you never have to worry about getting older and my 40`s was great woohoo
And Parkinsons, Alzheimers and Dementia are the new DEAD!

I am in my mid fifties and a lot fitter and healthier than my mid forties, and wiser I think the age thing is also relative with your genes Some can be younger than others but still look older Not smoking and moderate drinking is another factor (stick to red wine its beneficial to anti ageing) All in all you just have to be confident and believe in yourself
You will probably have gone through a lot of trauma by the time you reach your 50's, and if you survive what life throws at you it can only make you a stronger person
No life really does not begin at 40. I found at fifty is when I became more comfortable in my own skin than I had ever been. Life took on new meaning. It was no longer about everything else. It became about me.
I3estman4u: But women don't age with as much grace as men.
actually men age horribly - and I knowas I've been seeking one....
there are of course exceptions, but I also think it has to do with a women's mentality - from an early age we learn to take care of our appearance for a man (like it or not it's true) whereas men learn to provide
I realize that is a little oversimplified...but I really don't think men as often have the skills to age graaecfully
Glad you said thet the vision of a fory year old man in a nappy... toothless.... and dribbling in his rusks .....Is mmmmmm possibly what happens in some households on a Sunday morning
dont worry I was not happy about leaving my 20s I just turned 30 and thought I was retired. People around me informed me your still a baby you are not a fully fledged man until 45 I feel although at 40 your life should be finalised see it as an opportunity to embrace maturity.

Why bother to be 40?
You soon will be 41.
