illu_66: I wouldn't agree that it's ALL lust. But lust, wishes and the rapidity of how things can happen online CAN all lead to some confusion, which CAN, in turn, be misinterperated as love.

Certainly, with emails, chat and webcams you can find out if someone is your 'type' of person, and create a strong bond. For some that IS love, for others, they need a little more...

I have certainly found one or two proper friends on this site. People that I will cherish for a long time. Even if I never meet them, they are dear to me. I 'love' them as friends - of that I have NO doubt. So I would say, that if I had gotten 'more intimate' with them, if that's the way things had progressed - yes, it COULD have been possible to get those first 'feelings' of love.


Indeed Friendship can be found on such site and i also have made friends here and hope will remain so But falling IN love well in MY veiw as i said i dont think from chat's email this can realy show the true person , sure we can share our good/ bad times via chat/email etc etc but to be WITH someone can only show the REAL person , again its just MY veiw on it

And I DO agree with most of that. But with Skype etc - and I guess we're assuming that both parties are being honest - I can SEE the possibility, at least.

If you have a picture and great conversations..I can definitely see falling in love. I have never experienced it myself.. but could see meeting the right guy and falling in love with his thoughts and ideals. Hmmm. Well, sometimes it is possible to fall in love by just chatting with the person. To me, it's what's inside the person's heart that counts, as well as similar interests, what that person says, and if there is a connection. I know, because it happened to me. However, it wasn't the same for him. I was simply devastated and still wince when I see his picture on here. It has changed me forever. I will always love this man, but have to protect myself and build my stone wall. blushing sad flower

No you can't .... develop a deep friendship and an infatuation maybe, but not love. How can you be in love with someone whom you have not spent quality time with? Who has not looked deep into your eyes and shown you his true feelings? JMO..

Waaaaah!...Oh yeah It happened to me, few years ago...

We chatted, cam, phone and then we decided that we wanted to be together... we met.... and we had a great relationship for 2 years or so... but basically we fell in love when we were far . :)

It's over of course but was a beautiful experience....
Happens on NET , happens on RL as well :) Good luck to everyone :)

Nope dont think so.. I think one can fall in love with the image of the person they have built up in their heads through emails or IM's..has to be a big anti climax when they do meet..
