wispa: Hi Juneau, I know hedgehogs love dog meat, but with not having
a dog myself, I hadn't any in the cupboard

Yeah, I kind of guessed that. Maybe it would be a good idea to buy just one can and keep it for "hedgehog emergencies"dunno laugh

When I lived in Perth, the hedgehogs used to come right up to the house. They used to get some dog meat...much to the fascination of my old Dempsey Boxer Dog! doh laugh He was very good. I taught him to be gentle around wildlife, so he would stand at the window and just watch the hedgehogs/ducks/wood mice etc with me! purple heart

In response to: I used to belong to a Boxer-Rescue website, and although most of the threads related to boxer dogs, I started a "Wildlife" thread, and it was really successful. People would send in their photographs of wildlife to either identify or to tell a wee story about, and I used to post short articles about birds, animals, plants etc. All very lighthearted and nothing too heavy.

If it was to work on here, I guess it would have to be on the UK forums and under the "Picture Threads" so we could post photographs (something which I haven't done on here yet )

I didn't want to put this question in the poll section, because I know a lot of people that are bored with the polls and wouldn't bother to look at them.

So... I would just like to know if anyone on here would be interested in this, and would be willing to add their own stories, articles and photographs.
Did anyone watch the "Life dvds" free with the Daily Mail?

I played the one called Birds and Insects on my comp last night. Expecting to see some wild cockatiels and budgies and odd spider. Instead I saw evil australian bees killing each other and a bettle with giant jaws that resembled a robot. uh oh So, I only watched about 20 mins of it and put it back in sleeve and told my mate I've got some ghost dvds for her laugh

Nope, I'm not falling for that one.

What a strange season we are having!

There are still quite a few butterflies in the garden (inbetween the almost non-stop torrential rain!), the leaves have started falling off the oak trees at the bottom of the garden, we had a couple of ground frosts last week where the bird's water was iced over, and yet the nesting material that I have had out all Spring/Summer for the birds, is STILL being taken!! I get this strange image in my head, of all the wee birds taking this nesting material (which is actually stuffing out of old soft dog toys!) and making their own winter duvets!!! rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

You would never believe what a white boxer looks like, going full throttle through a bog, with all the chops flying around in all directions, and completely covered from head to toe in mud!! When the photos came out, they were almost unrecognisable as a dog!!!! roll eyes doh rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Just discovered that blackbirds LOVE blueberries!! I had a box that had got a bit old so I put them out for the birds and they disappeared in a matter of hours! laugh I was kind of hoping they might attract a thrush or two, but they never really come into the garden for some reason.

They're not colour prejudiced either - I was given about 3 lbs of Blackberries on Monday - They were picked from the bushes at the roadside along the road to Margate about a 1/4 mile from where I live and when I threw out the gash ones out ( about half a pound ) this morning they swooped down from my Buddleia bush at the bottom of my back garden where 2 pairs nest and they were gone in seconds.
