Weather today here is sunny, very warm but with a lovely refreshing breeze ... had an early walk - enjoyed the cooler air to the humidity of yesterday.

I just like a bit of colour in my life! and I was the youngest of only two...for your information! I know I am sounding obsessive about this colour thing, but I was so shocked that people couldn't read the font! I had no idea! Just trying now for a compromise

Have had to resort to listening to that on a few of the Scottish island holidays, when the cottage doesn't have a tv for a forecast. Like the saddo I am, I remember videoing the sound of the shipping forecast being made for Tiree. That particular destination was handy as it has it's own shipping forecast area!!
As the rain and gales battered the windows, the shipping forecast told us that Tiree was currently: Gale Force 10!!!! The electric boiler blew up in the old cottage, and we had no hot water for a week, and the engineer who was supposed to sail out from Oban on one of the Calmac ferries, couldn't come, cause they had stopped running! (which is pretty rare for a Calmac ferry!) Had an absolutely brilliant holiday though, despite the weather!!
Hi Jan...I listen to the BBC4 shipping forecast at quarter to one in the morning just to hear this tune...it never fails to make me drop off....I love it.....cheaper than Nytol....and I loves it too......how sad is that?

about as sad as me videoing the shipping forecast and the gales battering the windows!! Lovely tune...I haven't ever heard it. We always listened to the daytime version. There is something very evocative about the shipping forecast - I can't put my finger on it really. I guess, I have just always been interested in the weather forecast (being an ex-cyclist/hillwalker etc) plus my love of the sea and the islands

Me too...theres something quite comforting about listening to the oldtime Beeb whilst cosy in bed methinks....

and good luck with it Juneau --- I like the red - nice & bright
