Englishman55: I say I am "Spiritual" in my profile and what that means to me is that I think there is a higher power out there in the either.
It does not have a human form and does not belong to any one religion.
It does a lot of good for many people and I am prepared to accept it for what it is...... a higher power, not to be bent or malformed by man to suit his evil desire for power over others.
We already have the power over us, just embrace it for what it is.

hem23: Its a get-out clause for non-believers. So that if they do find themselves infront of the pearly gates after death, they can say ' well im a spiritual person, surely that scores me some points'
RDM59: So do you think being spiritual covers both the religious and pagan beliefs ? If so, does being spiritual then just mean, having a belief in anything ? ....
It only means that you believe that their is Spirit beings,
It doesent mean you know or understand the truth, or weather you believe in pagan Beliefs.... You may not know nothing, other than you believe that Spiritual beings exist....
then you are spiritual....
I was baffled myself, and I DO study for answers.....
I put my study on paper like a math problem for all to see
Hi mindfful and for fun- whats the least spiritual act/remark youve witnessed from a Spiritual Person?
Probably every time..... sadly, when the act/remark is spoken in defence....
Thought I would share you my write, on My Spiritual Bag
My "Wairua"
The great doors opened
Upon his step lay many souls
Gathered held and loved within his sweeping heart
Black coat hanging upon cemented erect shoulders standing proud
His face of ashen love a map of many hurts
yet placed to one side for his way is to only suck in your pain
and share his....
to enable you all to accept Love pain loss
A great light with that darkness always silhouetted behind him
He will turn his head to you
He will give all till nothing is left dwelling within your soul
As one who gives all shall know within
That beautiful darkened soul Knows like me The many roads we stumble
For he like me will say
I am here All is well
With spoken words he expels
"All my grief I have to bare"
"but tis only to help YOU here"
most steadily on Your way You like me
No cross to bare
But to forever gather those that seek
That need those gentle comforting words
SS xx
This is my greeting to you, all the peoples of the world This is my greeting of love to you all

About this write "Wairua" This is a part of me if not my whole of me....It is Maori for................."Spirit, Soul, Quintessence - spirit of a person which exists beyond death".
My "Wairua" lays deep within me...
For what I leave behind, is my spirit, therefore I believe there are "spirits"
For me, a spiritual is one who is willing to listen to his or her inner voice, who is willing to grow, change and accept themselves, others and the world as being the way it is at this moment in time.
It takes honesty and humility to see how our own little piece fits into the jigsaw of creation.

mindfful: i am not looking for a discussion of if there is or isnt a god
i was just walkin by a room with a TV blaring and i overheard what sounded like some type of reality show and a person was whining about being misunderstood or they felt themselves wrongly accused maybe?
so what i hear is this whining defensive voice saying "but how could you think i would do that? you know im a spiritual person!" and i just thot
WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
i mean i hear believers, non believers, all types say this about themselves- just cruise the profiles on any singles site- not only as a box to tick but in the self written descriptions they say "i am a spiritual person"
what do you think when you read or hear that? what does it mean when you say it? how important is it?
and for fun- whats the least spiritual act/remark youve witnessed from a Spiritual Person?
With-holding personal papers that are needed to prove a payment was made in order to open a checking account

When I hear that I think they don't follow any particular religion. That's just my take on it otherwise they usually say I'm a.... (insert religion). To me it means I have faith in something and I think it is very important to have faith even it it is just in yourself.
I can't really say, I would have to say the least spiritual acts/remarks have been here in the bible belt and that is people discriminating against and JUDGING people who don't go to church and participated in the dogma. Coupled with the EXPECTATION that EVERYONE that comes into their presence should believe what they believe or they are judged as and treated like bad people who are going to burn in hell. That to me is the opposite of spirituality and I feel that many times spirituality and religion are at opposite ends of the spectrum.
I knocked on heavens door, and was sent back, (not my choice). Spirituality is your relationship with the all mighty. Not a book or a building. Some walk in the light, some have to be shown the light and last but not least some never know the light. The light is what we/every living has within itself.

Yes, I have found the more you study and learn, the more you realise you don't know. More questions appear, it seems a never ending quest.
