Computer help needed (18)
ooby_dooby: I got hit with some malware yesterday. I noticed my hard drive kept running and everything was locked up on my PC. After a couple of minutes I hit the restart button and after it booted back up I ran Malwarebytes and found & cleaned 7 infections. Then I ran combofix and it detected rootkit activity which was cleaned out. Now every time I do a search on Google and click on my choice it redirects me to some lame search site.
Today I even ran F-secure scan and it found nothing.
Kaspersky online scanner is still under maintenance.
Anybody have this problem and how did you fix it?

Tom you do seem to have lots of IT problems.
I can´t help though, I´m a real technophobe! Sorry.

Soldier, I am trying to use this and after downloading, it can't be launched because it's not compatible with the Windows version I am using ( says I need a x86( 32 bit) or x64 ( 64 bit)version of the program.
I have Windows Vista and I am using mainly Firefox as browser...
Any suggestions on how can I use it?

if cannot click on it.. paste in add bar...
If you need different version (like 32 bit).. advise me..

The version of this tool delivered by Windows Update runs on your computer once a month, in the background. If an infection is found, the tool will display a status report the next time you start your computer. If you would like to run this tool more than once a month, run the version that is available from it's Web page or use the version on the Malicious Software Removal Tool Web site.
