sweetowen: The other day, I wished a former classmate happy birthday on another site. He emailed me & confessed that he'd had a huge crush on me in high school. He said I look like I'm doing very well now & look fantastic. He said, "I'm telling you this 27 years later." I replied that I'd also thought he was cute in high school. He now lives quite a distance away. And he didn't play into it either. He's still quite handsome! Why didn't he just let me know in high school??

Part of me wanted to email him again & tell him how his email has gotten me thinking... but is it really worth it? It's just been on my mind constantly since he dropped this on me!

If he had let you know in high school maybe you wouldn't have the beautiful children you now have wave hug

Hi Sweet Owen--

My personal opinion-you should talk to him, what if? Life is so
short, and you've been without knowing for how long? You are a
beautiful woman, life isn't meant to be a rubix cube we keep trying to arrange all the possibilities until it matches. Risk is part of the adventure...at least talk to him, maybe he'll come
see you, maybe he would move back, maybe you could find your love. I know the risks can be painful, but if it were me, I'd
at least talk to the guy....hug wine

I would not wonder if it is worth it. If your mind is busy thinking , take the hunch and check it out simply stating I have not been able to get you out of my head. If it is meant to be . well then.. and if not maybe you will at least make room in your head for someone else to come in.professor professor

sweetowen: Uhhh... no, that wasn't what I meant.

I'm trying to muster up the courage just to email him & tell him that his email really got me to thinking & has really boosted my ego. I would love to start chatting with him again! In his original email, he said he remembered our classes together & how we talked. I don't remember... but wish I did! The thing is... back in high school, he was one of the MOST POPULAR guys in my class & I figured I never had a chance with him. I really wish he'd let me know! But Darren's right... I wouldn't have my wonderful daughter or adorable grandbabies now.

Tell him, Sweet! You've got everything to gain and nothing to lose.

Yes!!! The door is open anytime!

Seriously, about this guy. Ask yourself two questions:

What's the worst that could happen?
What's the best that could happen?

Then the answer should be obvious.

I would like it if someone contacted me under the same circumstances. It took some courage to send the first email. I think he'd really appreciate knowing it was read. Nothing Ventured is Nothing Gained! beer

I sent him another email telling him how he boosted my ego, saying that I'd also had a crush on him & would get nervous talking to him in high school. I admitted that I hadn't figured I'd have a chance since he was a 'popular guy' & I never considered myself very popular. I also told him he still looks great.

He replied (pretty quickly) telling me he always felt comfortable talking to me. He said he never considered himself popular, he was just athletic. He told me not to 'sell myself short'. He said I look great too.

I haven't emailed him back. I figure the ball's in his court. dunno

Maybe I'm over-analyzing, but I'm just baffled as to WHY he came forward & told me now. It flattered me beyond belief, though. wine

Wrong, he emailed you last! Why are you avoiding something that you say you want? The door of opportunity only stays open for a limited amount of time. Email him. thumbs up

I'm not going to push. He knows where I am, right? He hasn't made any real indication that he would have a hope of trying to rekindle (or just start) any kind of a relationship or anything. I'm afraid I'd turn him off if I push. dunno
