gardenhackle: You've got articles. I've got articles. We all have articles. :) It's not all that hard to find someone somewhere that supports our points of view.

My only real question regarding how utterly clueless the "average American" is regarding economy and finance was the question about how that had any bearing on whatever you were saying and the truth or error in it.

I'm nodding out for the night. Head hurts, tired, chilled..... time for some blankets.

Exactly. We each can produce articles upon articles. That is why I generally don't even bother with them.

I can give you the answer to the question in a nutshell. The evidence is in the tangible developments we see in daily life. All BS and semantics aside, if the people understood, or took an interest in understanding exactly how the financial system and the economy works and would believe less of what comes through the airwaves, we might not be in this situation.

Yes, I have the same symptoms plus nausea. Time to go to bed, flip on netflix and hopefully get some sleep.

Then if we are all so ignorant, please explain what all of "us" do not understand.
Seems to me the basics are the basics. You must live with in your means, and not make your house payment with a credit card.
Tell me why the government does not have to follow the same rules??????????????
Greed and corruption.. What else you going to tell me (us) about how our financial system is run, not to mention Congress and politicians. doh

Well 'Misinformation' has been the watchword for quite awhile now, lack of FACTUAL information make people good sheep easily led by flashy words and bright colors... lack of education and ignorance make them quite malleable...convenient. Critical thinking skills can be really annoying... where would we be if people actually deduced and researched for themselves.... that instead of a Democracy, we actually live in an Oligarchy?

And frankly I don't see much difference between democrats and republicans... seems they're all in it for the lobbyist money these days anyway. stuck

There is a political comment worth noting.

The REP and Tea Party pole 1000s of Americans and get their opinions, form platforms and positions from them, and it is the same old same old and unintelligent muckie muck.

Nothing like calling millions of Americans ignorant. DEM that do, show they don't want a political arguement, they just want another cut of the pie.

Ever think that you could have contributed to the site and then passed the same great idea to your DEM leadership....and built a aisle crossing support for what ever you wanted?

I know you did not. But it could have been done.

It is just easier to call the majority of Americans ignorant and share with us your elitism.

I definitely don't want to see Obama cross the aisle anymore ...in fact I would be pleased if he makes a point to never compromise with republicans on any bill for the remainder of his term. thumbs up

If that's true then considering more Americans voted for Obama than anybody else, where would that leave you?
